Shipping is from Honolulu, Hawaii via media mail for an added $5 on the listed price. Shipping only to US. All opened records are packaged outside of their covers inside poly outer sleeves. LPs are placed in either antistatic rice-paper inner sleeves or plain white inner sleeves as opposed to their custom printed sleeves. This doesn't apply to sealed records.
Note: Shipping via media mail from Hawaii can take up to 4-8 weeks according to USPS. If you'd like to switch to Priority Shipping, I can come up with an accurate shipping quote depending on the records you purchase. Priority generally comes out to an average of $15, but again, it all depends on the titles you purchase. However, I so far haven't had any issues with media mail; Previous sales have taken a maximum of 3 weeks to arrive.

Purchased an electronic piano about 3 years ago. It wasn't exactly what we wanted, but I knew that some electronic piano's can have issues with their electronics (for lack of a better word) and I wanted to have the safety of the Costco return policy for a somewhat bigger purchase like that. Was about $1K and worked ok until now, but about a month ago a few of the keys started producing off sounds. I tried calling the manufacturer but never got through to anyone.
I initiated an online return (i.e. pick up by a carrier) since its pretty heavy and bulky. After about a week the carrier called and scheduled pickup. The day came and went, but no one showed up or called. The next day I call Costco to see if they know what is going on, but the service rep only said they'd escalate it to the Resolutions team and I should hear from them.
The next day I get a message that says they forwarded my request to the returns department and:
"Costco’s Return Policy is intended to protect our members from products which are defective or do not live up to Costco’s or our members standards. Your return request may fall outside of the scope of that intention. We will be happy to submit your request, however this is simply a request and not an approval of the return. Our returns department makes the final determination as to whether we will accept this return. We will process your request within 3 - 5 business days. If there are any questions, the returns department will reach out to you directly."
That was about 3 days ago. I haven't heard back from the returns department, but that sounds like the rep is implying they may deny my return or is this just standard language?
It definately gave me a pause. I agree that 3 years is kind of on the longer side, but this is exactly why I bought this from Costco. Otherwise I could have just bought something that we really wanted from a regular retailer. For context, we are not serial returners. I checked my costco CC and we had about $14K in Costco purchases last year and about $600 in returns.

Balinese authorities this week called for the end to Indonesia’s visa-on-arrival policy for citizens of Russia and Ukraine, citing a spate of alleged incidents involving misbehavior and various examples of visitors overstaying their visas and working illegally as hairdressers, unauthorized tour guides and taxi drivers. The move has been met with dismay by many Ukrainians on the island, who say that most of the incidents involve Russians and that they are being unfairly tarred with the same brush.

“Whenever we get reports about a foreigner behaving badly, it’s almost always Russian,” a local police officer in the town of Kuta told CNN, declining to be identified due to sensitivities surrounding the issue.

“Foreigners come to Bali but they behave like they are above the law. This has always been the case and it has to finally stop,” he said.

Five Russian men fleeing military conscription have been living at a South Korean airport for months
Badly behaved tourists can be a touchy subject in Bali, where foreigners of various nationalities regularly make headlines for drunk and inappropriate behavior, public nudity and disrespecting sacred sites.

But the Balinese authorities appear ready to make an example of Russians and Ukrainians amid rising public debate over perceptions of their conduct.
​
“Why these two countries? Because they are at war so they flock here,” Bali governor Wayan Koster told a news conference this week.
​
The influx of Russians and Ukrainians into Bali comes despite Ukraine having banned all men aged 18 to 60 from leaving the country. Russia has no official blanket ban, but has mobilized 300,000 reservists to join the fighting, prompting many young men to flee abroad rather than be drafted.

CNN reached out to the Russian embassy in Indonesia and Ukrainian consulate in Bali. Russian embassy officials did not immediately respond; Ukraine’s Honorary Consulate in Bali said Ukrainians in the country were mostly females there for family unification reasons rather than tourism and that they did “not want to violate the rules and regulations.”

‘We all get along’
While Bali was a favorite with Russian tourists even before the war, its attractions have become only more appealing in the wake of Putin’s grinding invasion and subsequent mobilization.
​
And it is far from the only refuge in Southeast Asia. The island of Phuket in southern Thailand, often lauded as among the world’s best beach destinations, has seen a sudden influx of Russian arrivals – many of whom have invested in property to ensure they can enjoy long-term stays. “Life in Russia is very different now,” a former investment banker from St. Petersburg who bought an apartment near Phuket’s Old Town district told CNN. He declined to disclose his identity for fear of retaliation from Russian authorities.

“No one wants to stay and live in the middle of war,” he said. “It is stressful thinking about the possibility of returning to Russia and being punished… (so) it makes sense to invest in a place which costs less than Moscow and is safer.”

In Bali, part of the attraction has been down to Indonesia’s policy that allows nationals of more than 80 countries – including, at least for now, Russia and Ukraine – to apply for visas upon arrival. The visa is valid for 30 days but can be extended once to a total of 60 days.
​
That might be plenty of time for those planning lengthy vacations, but those seeking a more prolonged stay are not allowed to work. Indonesian authorities said several Russian tourists had been deported in recent months for overstaying their visas, among them a 28-year-old from Moscow who was arrested and deported after he was found to be working as a photographer.

Others who arrived hoping to find work have since returned home, risking Moscow’s wrath if they are suspected of fleeing the draft.

Among the wave of Russians to have traveled to Bali was Sergei Ovseikin, a street artist who created an anti-war mural in the middle of a rice paddy field – a “mural” that reflected his stance on military conscription and the war.
​
“Like many others forced to leave our native country, I came to Bali as a tourist,” Ovseikin said.
​
“Russia remains in a difficult political situation. I am against wars, no matter where they take place,” he said.
​
“A lot of people who disagreed with the war flew to Bali – Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians and others,” he added. “We all get along well with each other… and understand that ordinary people did not start this war.”

‘It’s beautiful … no Russian soldiers’
News of the possible change to the visa rules has rattled some of the Ukrainians on the island, many of whom left their homeland when war broke out and have been living on savings ever since, leaving and reentering every 60 days to avoid flouting the rules.
​
“Bali is a good place,” said one Ukrainian named Dmytro. “It is beautiful, the weather is great and it’s a safe place for Ukrainians – there may be big groups of Russians, but there are no Russian soldiers.”
​
Ukrainians on the island were a tightly knit community that largely kept away from Russians and had been surprised by the possible move, he added.
​
“Ukrainians respect Balinese law and culture. We do a lot for our local communities and don’t represent any risk for people in Bali,” Dmytro said. “Many back in Ukraine have questions about Bali and would also love to come.”
​
“It’s very sad that Ukrainians are being put in the same (category) as Russians. Russians are the second largest tourist group in Bali and if you read the news, you’ll see how often it is Russians breaking local laws and disrespecting Balinese culture and traditions,” he added.

“So why do Ukrainians have to suffer when it isn’t us causing problems in Bali?”

Ukraine’s Honorary Consulate in Bali said in a statement to CNN that there were around 8,500 Ukrainian citizens on the island as of February 2023, holding various temporary and permanent visa permits.

“Ukrainians do not come for holiday to Bali at this current moment as our country is being invaded. The Ukrainians coming to Bali now are for family unification (reasons) and are mostly female,” said spokesperson Nyoman Astama.
​
“We reaffirm that Ukrainians in Bali do not want to violate the rules and regulations,” Astama added. “It is imperative to enforce the law and implement the consequences for any breach of the law as voiced now by the people in Bali.”
​
Still, for now at least, anyone from either country still hoping for a visa on arrival can take some comfort in the fact that the central government is yet to decide on whether to grant the request by the Balinese authorities.
​
“We will discuss it in detail with other stakeholders,” Indonesian Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno told local reporters on Monday.

my wife and I bought a beach house last June, it’s a 4 unit community that shares a pool and common area(lot of land) the community is made up of 2 sets of townhomes.
Information about the homes/ occupants.
Home A: couple in their 50s, wife is the HOW treasure.
Home B: our home, we bought and the home is in a trust that also include my parents. Basically the property is shared by my parents, my wife, and I. My mom is the current HOA president (explanation to follow).
Home C: elderly couple (late 60s early 70s) husband was former HOA president. He’s the asshole. Decided to list their home for sale, they also have a house on Florida, which they said they were moving to regardless of their home sells her by May. If it doesn’t sell they will just rent it out. He spends all of his day sitting outside because he hates his wife.
Home D: also bought around the same time we bought our house. Used as a rental property.

We move in around June and aren’t there full time. But spend a decent amount of time there. We’ve always been friendly and helpful and tried to respect everyone. Husband of house C has always had issues with us, to many visitors, not leaving our outside lights on, and many other trivial petty things. Well when he decided to list his house back in OctobeNovember he said he wanted to give up the HOA president position (because he assumed his house would seek fast, even with him listing it 100K over what we bought our house for, which is almost identical, plus rising rate). He suggested the husband of home A take it on. Home A thought it wasn’t a good idea having the president and treasurer of the HOA in the same house/married to each other. So they nominate my mom.
Some Information about my mom. She has been a real estate agent for 20 years, has worked with HOA’s before, built up the rental and property management side of her company and has plenty of experience on what to do.
So everyone votes and elects my mom as president (she also asked the former president if they wanted to wait until he sold his house before taking over, to which he said no, go ahead and start asap).
Come to find out after my mom takes over that the last 8 years they’ve been engaged in this good ol boy method of taking care of bills/vendors/accounting. The former president let our liability insurance lapse and didn’t tell anyone. So my mom naturally is trying to right the ship and get everything taken care of. She got quotes for insurance and provided that info to the owners and the former president provided a new quote from the former insurance company that was more expensive and provided less coverage. So naturally everyone else voted for one of the quotes my mom got.
Our pool has had a leak for 2 years and the former president has just put a band aid on it instead of finding the cause. Every time she tries asking questions he gave her the run around. I get the vibe that he’s a misogynist and doesn’t like women’s in power asking him questions, he’s been totally useless.
Everything blew up this weekend…we have residential elevators, the manufacturer states they should be inspected yearly and the battery replaced every 3-4 years. They guy that services the elevators is the same one who installed them, and he has requested that all 4 home do it at the same time as it’s easier for him because he lives 1.5 hours away. My mom being a proactive president got all the information and his first available time and emailed it to all the owners. She didn’t commit to anything. There’s also a new law in place for rentals with residential elevators that she include. Home A and D agreed and were thankful/appreciative. Home C blows up in a and stars taking shit and just being a Dick to my mom. This guy has fought my mom every step of the way. He then threw up using spectrum for our pool phone without getting any quotes…but he’s the one use chose them in the first place.
This whole thing is ridiculous, none of the other neighbors like him and he’s a bully. My only hope is someone will buy the house so he can get out of here.

Virginia Beach VA: very boring, lots of military, need a car to get anywhere. Massive suburban sprawl masquerading as a city.
Richmond VA: quirky and artsy and “alternative”, has a lot of culture. Some rough spots but overall better than it used to be. Good middle ground between DC, beaches and mountains.
Washington DC: feels small for a big city. Lots of green space, diverse and lots of variety in types of neighborhoods. People tend to be very conservative in dress/self expression despite the liberal politics. Lots to do, good transit and walkability. Expensive.

Training

In September 2021, I raced my first half marathon. Four days later my wife gave birth to our second child! I took a short break from running, then did some base building followed by Pfitz 12/70. It was my second time doing that plan but I suffered a stress fracture in my femoral shaft. My best guess is that I ramped up to 12/70 too quickly. This time last year, I had seen a sports medicine doctor and was waiting for an MRI. Doctor also said MRI showed a labral tear in my hip. Recovery took months: Rest, PT, Walk/running, followed by clearance to slowly build up my base again.
This time I followed Pfitz 18/55, starting in mid November. There were a couple times I had pain that reminded me of my injury, I think it was the labral tear flaring up. Continuing to do my PT exercises and being willing to skip a recovery run here and there seemed to keep serious reinjury at bay. Along the way I PR'd at the 5k, 8k, and 10k distances. Based on my PRs and MP runs I thought my goal of 3:10 was a good aggressive goal - achievable but far from guaranteed.
I first took up running in March 2020 as a pandemic hobby. On 3/23/20 I ran 2.34 miles at 11:14/mi (there were walk breaks) and stuck with it. So Shamrock basically fell on my 3rd "running anniversary". November of that first year I ran my first marathon in 3:32. That was my only prior marathon.

Pre-race

My wife also ran the marathon, but got strep from our son about 2 weeks ago and was wrapping up antibiotics. She felt awful the night before and even threw up at 3am. She barely got any sleep. Her only previous marathon was way back in 2014.
My first marathon in November 2020 was unusual. Due to covid concerns, there was a course open for registrants to run over a 10 day span. When I ran it there were others out running the course but we all started on our own. So this was my first time doing a large start and it was my first time running with a pace group. Temperature was honestly ideal for a marathon in the low 40s.

Race

The first 13 miles were easy and honestly everything through 20 miles was pretty uneventful. I remember looking down at my watch early on and feeling like my HR was alarmingly high. Looking back on Strava, my HR was indeed at 173 bpm for miles 3+4. But it settled down between 161-166 for miles 7-15. I really enjoyed running with a pace group. I can be an obsessive checking my watch but I was able to just trust in the pace of the group. We were a pretty big pack from the start, and even after we lost the half marathoners at mile 12 we were still probably 15-20 runners strong. I took a gu gel at roughly 1:00, 1:45, and 2:30. Alternated water and nuun at the aid stations.
Based on GPS watch we seemed right on pace, but according to the official race splits online we were just barely behind. 10K and halfway splits were 7:16 pace and 20mi split was at 7:15 overall. I would have preferred to be a little bit ahead of goal pace, not a little bit behind. Which leads us to leaving the pace group….
My race strategy was to run with the 3:10 pace group through 20 miles and if I felt good, accelerate with the goal of pushing to my stretch goal 3:08. At mile 20 I heard the 2 pacers talking to each other and realize we were probably a titch behind pace. Hearing this plus feeling fine, I let myself accelerate. You will see that I ran miles 21 and 22 at 6:58 and 6:53. At the time this felt relatively comfortable but it is possible this was a mistake that cost me.
Mile 23 was a return of the only hill on this flat course. I tried to push even harder, to keep up my pace against the resistance, and felt my hamstring almost seize up on me. So I eased up a bit for a 7:08 mile.
Mile 24 I hit the boardwalk and OH MOTHER OF GOD that's a 20mph headwind bearing down on me. Oh no, oh fuck, I should have stayed with the pace group for wind coverage. What an idiot I am. Well maybe I will fall back into the pace group, swallow my pride, but still finish before 3:10. Run miles 24 and 25 at 7:14 and 7:45 into this brutal headwind.
Mile 26: Back onto Atlantic Ave and finally out of the headwind. BAM. My right hamstring totally seizes up on me and I can't run. Walking now. I did not think this would happen to me. Already feeling like I lost important time on the boardwalk. Someone on the sidewalk gave me a stern, supportive shout (something like “you are almost there, walk it out and run”) and I will always be grateful to whoever that was. After a couple strides walking it out, I get jogging again. Jogging jogging jogging BAM. Left hamstring seizes up now. Borderline panic mode. Man where the hell is the pace group? Walk it out, get jogging again.
Turn back onto the boardwalk southbound for the finish. Right hamstring cramps up again. Ugh. Stride stride stride, now running again. Run it in, finishing less than a minute slower than my goal.
I’m not going to lie, I expected my wife to veer off and finish with the half marathoners given she was running totally depleted from her illness. But she wasn’t at either of the spots we discussed meeting up, so I returned to the finish line stretch and watched for her. I did not have my phone on me to look online and check her splits. With a couple minutes to go before the 4 hour mark she appeared! I shouted encouraging words, high fived her, and snapped a couple photos. She finished in 3:54:09. I don’t know how she ran a whole marathon in that condition, I am so proud of her!

Post-race

The good news: This was a 21 minute PR for me! Every mile split was well below my previous overall pace of 8:05/mi. I had an aggressive goal and was this close to it! I ran a marathon, I don't have a stress fracture in my femur! These are all great things.
The bad: Obviously, not hitting my goal. I really wanted this for Chicago 2024 qualification. But, I think if I do another training cycle + marathon, I can still get it in time for 2024.
The ugly: I would love to figure out why I experienced the hamstring cramps and what I should work on. Was it my nutrition? Am I paying the consequences of neglecting weightlifting? Did I push too hard in miles 21+22?
About that pace group: The pacer I ran with, his final time was 3:30! I wonder what happened! I'm dying to know how the race went for the rest of the pack. So even if my decision to speed up alone at 20 didn't work out perfectly, I'm not sure staying back would have been the right decision either. Checking out Strava activities from the race, I think lots of people encountered similar issues with their goals after running in that headwind.
In retrospect, I wish that when I made my move I had asked around the pace group if anyone wanted to go with me. I bet I would have had at least 1 or 2 take me up on it. It may have helped to push through the brutal headwinds as a small team.

Looking forward

I will take a week off from running then follow Pfitz's suggested 5 week recovery plan.
I will hopefully race the Richmond marathon and I'm not sure what training plan I will follow. I would like to jump up from 55mpw to 70mpw, but suffering a stress fracture last time I tried 12/70 has me concerned. In the meantime, I will do some base building and probably run some 5-10k races.

Hello! I am using expo file system and expo media library to download image urls to file system in react native. But on every download of an image, I keep getting the prompt "Allow app to modify this photo? " asking user to allow or deny. If user selects 35 photos and clicks on download, then the pop-up arises 35 times each time asking user to allow or deny. How do I prevent this pop-up from appearing and download bulk photos as a whole to the device?

Completely smitten by this girl I met last week
The actual advice im requesting is at the bottom if you dont care for the context. We (22m)(21f) met on yikyak (anonymous rumor mill social media app) when I was reaching out for help on a school project I had to do during Spring Break. We arranged to meet up the next day to shoot for it but still kept talking for like another 4 hours so there felt like a pretty good connection. The project work ended up turning into a little date afterwards and we both had a great time she even texted me after saying so. We are still I'm contact but not as talkative as that first night. She actually asked me the other day if I want to go on beach dates with her (Fuck yes are you joking?) If you're asking why wait we go to different schools she's in premed busy as hell, I also don't have a car atm. But yeah we are still texting. Definitely been overthinking stuff just a little but I'm sure we like both eachother alot. I'm just afraid things will fizzle out if we don't keep up conversation enough. I think where things stand is really good tight now but yeah, would just like to talk to her a bit more. We still met very recently though so the advice I'm asking is:
This early on would it sound overly needy of me to tell her something along the lines of "Hey I've really had a great time getting to know you this past week, I know school has been overwhelming but I hope we can both still find time to talk to eachother because I really like getting to know you." I don't think so but I'd like to hear what you guys might have to say.
