Hello Reddit usually I just read stories so I’m not sure how to format this well. ,y grammar is very bad and I’m shaking in tears. For some background my( F18) dad(M48) and mom don’t have the best relationship. But my mom tries to be civil. My dad is barely in my life but I love the same as when I was 8, when he was more present. Currently he married with dogs and such and still he manages to Make his life sound miserable. Every time we call he sound so unenthusiastic about everything or like he just got out of bed. He pays no CS but is some how in debt cause he’s sending use thousands. I would know if we got anything. And he has some sort of ptsd about my state so he refuses to come out here. There is so much or red flags, but because I loved him and thought he was an amazing father I ignored how much of a narcissist he is.
That all ended a couple months ago, when he some how lost my phone number. I got a long ass text (from and unknown number btw )message on how he was sad that I didn’t contact/respond to him after he sent me hundreds or of text through the course of two months… this man was texting my number from 5 years ago. I would under stand if that was just the only number he remembered, but he had 10 different ways he could have reached me sister, mom, social media… he’ll he knew my every emergency contact. The was no excuse. Although he apologized I kept my distance and kept my reply’s short. The came the topic of meeting him, the last time we (me n my sis) saw him was 6 yeasts ago. We both told him we would feel more comfortable if he came to see us in our state, but instead he cause multiple reason ie. excuses on why he can’t come. Then get made at my mom and saying she manipulated us on not coming. That was today. It’s irritating, he thinks we’re these naive children that he thought were new and continued to lie straight to our face. I said thing to him that I know would definitely anger him, when he lived with us and was still with our mom he would be very violent if you said anything wrong. He angers easily.. I bet he’s fuming right now. He very capable coming he at any time and I don’t know what he will do. And if I go no contact how will effect both mine, my family and his mental state. I don’t know what to do from here. Today I witnessed my fathers true character and I don’t know how to handle this relationship onwards.

so si mama, sya nagpapaaral sa isa kong pinsan na graduating na (na may 8 na kapatid, kaya di nakayanan ng tita ko na pagaralin sila lahat). nagpapart time rin yung pinsan kong yon sa shop ni papa, tas yung kuya nya. iba nyang kapatid, si mama rin sumasagot ng ibang school supplies/tuition minsan.
tas neto pa, nakita ji mama na nagpapadala rin si papa ng pera don sa mga pamangkin nya sa probinsya (nakita ko chat at halos monthly nagpapadala sya pang OJT at dorm nung pinsan ko sa probinsya).
di ko alam. siguro naaawa lang ako sa parents ko lalo’t nakikita ko kung pano nila paghirapan yung mga kinikita nila, pero di man lang nila maganit lahat sa sarili nila kasi nauubos na agad sa gastusin ng ibang fam members namin na nakadepende sakanila. valid lang naman siguro nafefeel kong inis no?

The story begins in when I [M23] matched with some cute girl wearing elf ears on bumble [F20]. At the time she seemed fun and different and I actually thought I might like her, which was rare because practically every other girl I’ve matched with I never could see myself with for more than a night if it even got that far. We talked for a little and I felt like we really hit it off. Eventually i got her number / snapchat and we proceeded to talk and try to plan a date. This went on for about month but my crippling anxiety kept getting in the way and I always chickened out because of the fear of being rejected or even worse the fear of falling in love. I knew that i would be moving in the near future and didn’t want to get attached to someone that would be living 300 miles away.
I then moved and went on with my life but still sometimes snap chatted or texted her on occasion. Eventually she started showing more and more interest and over the next 2 months our conversations got longer and more personal. Don’t get me wrong she definitely had some red flags and I knew there was a chance to get hurt in this but holy shit I don’t know if i was just desperate and craved the attention from a woman or what but she made me feel special. Over the next couple of weeks we started playing some video games together and as an avid gamer myself this was literally a great come true. We played Call of duty and Sims together, where we were decorating a house together. Which I honestly didn’t want to do but I wanted to “be” with her so I did, and it then I actually would have a lot of fun. It was so strange because she would show me all this attention and give off all of the signs that she was interested in me, and then go spotty for an evening or a couple days and leave me on delivered. I get it people have real lives and I know women can play games sometimes but i legitimately didn’t know how she felt towards me. It was driving me absolutely crazy and I kind of thought she liked me enough to be like “hey can’t talk tonight” or “I’m busy”. While I was sitting confused on why she was ignoring me thinking I did something wrong. But whatever I continued giving my all and slowly but surely becoming obsessed with this women.
Eventually the time comes and I ask if she wants to do something over the weekend and that I was going to drive the distance to take her out on a date. She agreed and said she’s free on Sunday so I grew some balls and actually committed and drove down that Friday afternoon to hangout with a friend. I asked her if she was busy that night and she responded with no because she was sore from the gym which I thought was a lame excuse and got me overthinking. Saturday comes and she’s not answering at all and I have a mental breakdown and drive home that night. During my drive she answers but I was already halfway and told my friend who’s couch I was sleeping on that I was going home, so I made up an excuse and said there was a family emergency and needed to go home.

Some of the nights she would literally fall asleep while we were talking which I thought was cute and definitely a sign she was really into me. I asked when she was free and she said Saturday and Sunday so I was like cool I’ll be there, booked a hotel room with some credit card points and on drove down there on that Friday night. Saturday morning rolls around and I’m super nervous, we talk and she asks to postpone the date a couple hours I immediately thought the worst and was already considering going back home.
BUT IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, we met up at a local mall, talked on a bench for a while, then went and got smoothies, then continued talking in my car for another several hours before she had to go to some previous commitment. She was pretty open about some of her experiences with guys in the past so I really wanted to respect her boundaries and not try anything that would come off as too aggressive or like all I wanted was sex because it wasn’t. Right before she got out of my car she said “can I kiss you” and I literally lunged at her from my seat to hers kissing her multiple times before she left and I stayed in my car smiling for a good 10 minutes thinking well I guess the date went well.
I went back to my hotel room and eventually texted her that I had a great time and I want to see her again tomorrow. she responds with the worst thing imaginable “I’m drunk can’t hangout with you tomorrow.” So there I was I just went from the happiest I’ve been in years to thinking well I blew it and I’m never going to see this girl again in my life. So I did what any desperate man would do and I told her exactly how I felt, saying that she was pretty much my favorite person that I talked to and wanted more than just a friendship and am willing to do this whole long distance thing because she’s worth it to me. and she responded with that’s cute but I like you too, but then said she wanted to see me again, then wouldn’t answer again. This was not very reassuring so I went kind of manic and drove home listening to angry music wishing I was dead. I actually got pulled over and the cop asked if I was ok because I was going 25 over in the pouring rain.
Monday comes and we go back to our normal routine of talking and playing video games together, Tuesday she ignored me for most of the day, and Wednesday back to normal. So on Thursday I told her how I felt again and that if she wants me to continue trying with her she needs to tell me how she feels back so I know if I’m wasting my time and she said I was being insecure. I apologized and was like ok not gonna be so obsessive because it’s not attractive and makes me seems needy. But fuck all I wanted in this world was her and she knew that. All I wanted was her to communicate her feelings and tell me if I was being overbearing. I actually sent her a message on Snapchat pretty much saying that exact thing and she ignored it for 20 hours so I blocked her and am trying to move on.
Based on all that, was I the problem and did I get too attached to someone? Did I overreact to being left on delivered or was she not interested? And most importantly why are women so confusing??
TL;DR: I [M23] was trying to start a relationship with [F20] and don’t know where it all went wrong.

I felt the cold wind slice into my thinning hair as if it were comprised of ethereal razors. I gripped my wounded extremities to the back of a cold metal frame built onto the atv as a ramshackle "oh sh*t handle." In a crude attempt to remain stable on the quaking apparatus as its tires found purchase on the uneven ground, truth be told, I would have wrapped my arms around my liberator for balance, and I am not wholly convinced he would have made sure I had not remained on the chariot for much longer after a move so bold. He remained silent for the entirety of the short trip and seemed to operate the vessel with a decisive focus similar to that of a student who had recently connected with a previously incomprehensible portion of a lesson. The ride concluded moments before nightfall, and what lay before me, illumined by the lights fixed to the front of the vehicle, was a derelict home that seemed out of place within the forrest. as if left there by some incongruous carpenter to be reclaimed again by the earth. Vines had grown up the dwelling in such a way that the strands of plant matter seemed sentient, and they seeped into the cracks and holes that had grown onto the home as scars do on an aging body. The home looked almost as though it was stricken with an unknown infection that only affected inanimate objects. What few windows the shack had were boarded up by scrap plywood, with small dances of flickering light visible through the gaps. A pungent odor leaked from the pores of the cottage, which mixed with the smell of gasoline from a stationary engine placed just to the right of the home's door, creating an olfactory calamity that nearly caused me to wretch immediately after coming into its range. I stared up at the shack in disbelief; this could hardly be called a structure, and judging by the generator placed outside, there was no world in which there was an instrument inside capable of connecting to the internet to send emails back and forth. It didn't take much thought to conclude this was not the Fairhaven Community but instead perhaps an outpost, or, God forbid, this is where I was supposed to stay. Before I opened my mouth to make my grievances known, the man swung his leg over the side of the ATV and motioned me to follow him. "Best we go inside," he muttered, pointing up at the sky. "Ain't the best time to be hangin' round outside." I hopped off to follow and responded, "That's what I keep hearing." I had been warned before of dark forests on other jobs, mostly due to wondering animals or the locals' fear of some long-told story of a cryptid passed down as a warning to children for years. Most of the time I took these warnings with a grain of salt, as they were normally given by any given town's designated drunkard or wise old orator in a typically playful manner during a night of backwoods revelry to welcome me. However, something about the warnings of this forest seemed much more grim and all too real. Perhaps it was my anxious nature, but as the sun fell into the horizon, I began feeling not only uneasy but I had this indescribable feeling of...impending dread, as if the world beneath me was just about to collapse and if I didn't find the warm glow of light before the cosmic radiance of the sun disappeared completely, I wouldn't ever make it to see the next day. In this moment, I would have done anything or gone anywhere to get out of the darkness for a brief moment. I ignored my aforementioned discomfort and followed the man to the door of a home I never would have entered in any other situation. The maker turned and yanked a few times on the cord of the contraption meant to provide power to the home until it let loose a roar that echoed through the valley. It slowed to an idle sputtering, and the home was illumined with an array of eclectic lights securely fixed to surfaces all around the home, wrapping me and my savior in a blanket of light that stood out in the darkening woodland. I could now see the man standing upright in vivid detail. He has a thin frame; however, his arms protruded with bulbus knots that spoke volumes of his physical capabilities. His hairline fell back on his forehead, revealing a deep scar that span its length, and his glasses seemed to not quite fit the way they were supposed to on his withered skull. He wore large boots that looked to be much too large and had been commandeered from a man who had long since lost use of them, and his face carried a sort of aversion. A look that I had come to understand was similar to mine—one that developed from being thrust into a place I had no interest in being. He extended his hand towards me, and I in turn grasped his. His calloused and overworked hands grinded into my blistered hold with an expected grip that could bust open an aluminum can with ease, causing me to wince a little in pain. "Harridson Demp" be muttered upon shaking my hand. "Caleb Hayes," I coughed back through gritted teeth. He pushed at the door, which opened with a droning creak punctuated with a sharp crack when the squeak reached its apex, revealing a dimly lit vestibule that was just big enough for the two of us to fit simultaneously. The walls were decorated with mold and peeled wallpaper, and a slight drip of water could be seen coming from a faucet just an arm's length from the floor. As I stepped inward, I felt my foot sink a little into the decomposing foundation the room was built on, almost as if it were made of half-dry clay. The potent aroma of ammonia formed a poignant wall that sat midway through the room; the air was humid and nearly thick enough to reach out and grasp. I looked over toward the man with an apparently indisputable face of disgust formed by nearly three long decades of comfortable living. "Put your purse down; it's better in here than out there," he said with an offended glance. "Do you live here?" I choked out through my lips, pursing them, preparing to release what little I had eaten in the past 24 hours. He stepped slightly toward the second door placed in the hellish airlock and spoke, "Not just me; family's here too." I was floored at the thought of a family living in the squalor I had seen, not to mention what had yet to be seen. Understand, I've been in plenty of questionable family living situations prior to this poor excuse of a home, and it looked as though it had been not only neglected but purposefully mistreated by anything it had come into contact with. I made contact with the abysmal interior of the dwelling and was instantly greeted by a compact space that acted as a kitchen as well as a living area, with a makeshift cot placed in front of a rusted stove. The walls were covered in off-putting paintings and portraits of varying quality, ranging from childlike to outlandish renditions of common things that covered my skin in goosebumps. Refuse and filth littered the ground in all but a few pathways to a different door. From my count, there were 3 doors in total, two of which were shut, however, and sitting slanted on brittle hinges. The other door on the wall adjacent to myself was opened wide and presented something akin to a bathroom. Inside of the chamber stood a woman dressed in a stained white button-up and a dingy yellow apron who was emaciated in stature with netted locks of auburn hair that fell much too far down her crooked spine. She carried herself with a submissive and reserved posture—not that she was shy or skeptical of me, but as if she were broken and mortified. The woman didn't lift her head as we walked in but simply gave a trembling nod as she rushed to the room on her right and gently tapped at the decaying wood frame of the door. The door flew open, and three children walked out from within it. The oldest of the children looked to be a boy of about 15 draped in a large set of ill-fitting and torn rubber waders with brown hair that sat awkwardly just above his large ears, the middle child was a young girl with hair similar to the woman who welcomed me into the loathsome palace; her face, however, displayed a wide smile of unkempt teeth as she brandished a still-dripping paintbrush, and the youngest of the children was a boy who couldn't have been more than 6 years old; he wore a trucker cap tightly sque Every one of the brood stood like some extraterrestrial being horribly attempting to appear human; their eyes were all tired and filled with thousands of years' worth of experience that I would prefer to distance myself from. The scene before me was disheartening, and it did not help the state of confusion I had been in at every waking moment since I arrived at the gas station. I had thought perhaps that Harrison initially was the father of the family, but the way their looks, their clothes, and their states of being contrasted with his own drove me to think otherwise. Harridson cleared his throat, motioned towards the children who had filed out of the threshold, and announced, "Oldest there is Carl, but we call him Gator on account of his love for animals, middle one is Lucille, she's the artist around here," he said, motioning to the walls before continuing, "and that there are the twins." I gave him a questioning eyebrow that broke him from his rant. "Twins?" I broke the silence. He nodded, saying, "It's like he's got two people living inside of him." not just like mood swings but as two completely separate personalities. "The one you see right now is Dale, and the other is Wiley." I had a thousand queries about the youngest child alone, but opted to keep the majority of them to myself before stammering, "Are..do..how long have you guys lived here?" Lucille perked up and raised her brush to speak, but was immediately intercepted by Harridson. "I'd say about 5 years now?" For five long and assuredly horrid years, the family had stayed in a four-room home that was moments away from falling into the crust of the earth. Was I supposed to inhabit this contaminated vivarium as well? The very notion of remaining here for just a single night showered me with a rain of traumatic feelings. Was this the family I was meant to teach? If so, then why was I not informed or introduced properly, and why was the patriarch of the family so vastly different from the animalistic paupers he claimed as his kin? My vision began to flatten, and my heartbeat picked up to a machine gun pace as the archaic lights illuminating the room started to heat my skin, causing cold beads of sweat to form in my violently shaking hands. My breathing twisted into a brisk and labored wheeze as though I'd run a mile in seconds. My hearing floated in and out as I heard the Gator speak in an overly high-pitched and nasally whine. "You alright, mister?" is the last thing I remember hearing before feeling Harridon's iron grip close around my shoulders, which have started to plummet to the cluttered floor. I was surprised in the moment at how Harridson had yet again come to my aid during a tragic moment, and I couldn't help but feel ashamed. I had been in situations where the families I was teaching were unclean, disorganized, or impoverished, but my current predicament, accompanied by sleepless exhaustion, must have humiliated the man, who was most likely presenting himself in a better light to net a better quality of life. It was sometime between the end stages of my panic attack and the floor that I lost consciousness that night, and if I can be transparent only for a moment compared to now, it was the best night's sleep I would have for a very long time.

Okay... I'm just asking myself where I should begin? Hello reddit. Hello world... For years, I've lurked reddit without an account, reading many different stories over the years. And now I've finally decided to create a reddit account of my own. But enough of this. I'm here because now I really wanted to share something. So, I'll get right to it. And I hope you'll bear with me a little, as this WILL be long. If not, then that's alright too. I'll try to be concise. No promises though, lol.
A little bit of context, I'm a 31-year-old man. And for as long as I could remember, I've always (and still do) played out these different life scenarios and stories in my mind. I've always "lived" in these stories and lives in my head. And if I wasn't living in these stories, then I was the "narrator" (for lack of a better word/the best way I could describe things). Or think of Sy from the movie One Hour Photo, starring the late Robin Williams. I've stumbled upon maladaptive daydreaming, and I looked more into it. As I got older, I would dismiss the stories in my mind from when I was little as silly childhood fantasies. But I always continued to play out new ones as I got older. And now that I've entered my 30s... And still do this. It's no longer just fantasies. And it has me somewhat worried now. Or at least worried that this doesn't seem "normal" in the eyes of most of the general neurotypical population.
I think that most of this stems from me not being happy with the outcomes & inadequacies in my life from my early teens/adolescence up until now. And this was a way for me to cope/escape from it all, or perhaps to "rehearse" so that things could turn out the way I'd like. It's a double-edged sword; it'd sometimes give me hope to try and make something come true and at the same time, dishearten me when I "wake up" and find that some, or all, of it is not real.
These stories that I play out in my mind range in different things and different situations. I imagine/fantasize what my life could have been like if things took certain turns. The constant "what ifs" going on in my head. But a good majority of my "stories" involve this. Say, I'm out somewhere, and I see a stranger who catches and piques my interest. I'll play out a story in my mind, all the different things we'd do together as if I knew them and/or were friends with them. Especially if said stranger happens to be some random pretty woman. I don't create stories with EVERY single stranger that I see in public though. And no, I don't just creepily gaze at someone. I often play out stories in my mind with some people that I'm already acquainted with too.
Or it could be someone on YouTube or Instagram or wherever... sometimes someone from a movie or on TV, who I don't know/I've no connection to and doesn't know I exist. I'd play out stories with them too as if I knew them. And when I see a certain person and create a story, it sometimes doesn't even have to be that same exact person when I play out a story in my mind. I'd sometimes formulate and fabricate a person who looks like them or their ilk and play out a story in my mind with them. Like, if I see a person and this person lives far away from me. I'll formulate a person in my mind in their likeness and then play out the story. Like, what if this person lived nearby me instead and I met them... Kind of like a tulpa (Now, tulpas. You may research this yourself if you aren't already familiar with this phenomenon).
And the things we'd do together range in different things as well. Say, if I see this gal. I'd imagine too, that I was romantically involved with said person. If I was doing something, I'd imagine I was doing it together with her. And no, it's nothing lude/provocative. I don't think solely sexual things when a woman enters my story. I'd imagine actually connecting with her personally/emotionally. We'd have our healthy disagreements and small arguments, to the casual flirty joking moments. To her consoling me when I'm in distress. To everyday mundane things. Say, if I went somewhere, I'd imagine going there with her. I'm going on a late night scenic drive around town when there's sparse traffic, I'd imagine she was with me. Or to just going to a store or restaurant at night when the place is almost closed with the place being almost or completely empty with faint slow department store music playing in the background, just casually sitting or strolling about & vibing together... Only to look back at many of these stories in despair, all the things that could've become and all the years that have gone by that I haven't achieved such or things came true... Oh, I could go on. But this has gotten way too long now. I'm actually gonna elaborate more on something related that's been eating me up the past month later on in a new post but it will be another story for another time.
I'm sorry that this has gotten so long. But I hope I was able to explain this phenomenon well & thoroughly enough. Feel free to share your own experiences and stories. I'll look forward to reading them and gaining more insight... Call me ill too, if you believe so (because I believe this whole thing partly stems from some mental condition). Mental conditions do run on my mom's side of my family, so I wouldn't doubt that some of it trickled down to me. I don't bring this up with my folks, as the talk of mental illness has always been taboo for them, for some reason. But I digress... Anyways, thanks for reading. ✌️

I am a 23 year old man living in Belgium. exactly 1 month ago the fire alarm went off at my work. I was in it for about 30 seconds before I was out. after this I got a ringing in my left ear. I was able to go to the hospital for tests after a few days. I had no hearing damage and my eardrums looked good. the 1st week was really hell. After 2 weeks, the beeping became less, and i was so happy. I could handle this much better. Since last week the beeping sound is much louder again. I now also hear another beep in my right ear. which is really really hard. it seems like this one is getting harder and harder every day. I'm so scared that it's going to stay so hard and that I can't live with it. I hear it all the time, even through music. I have bad anxiety that its getting harder everyday.
I do not listen to hard music or anything. So idk why it came back much harder. Can anybody give me some feedback plz.

I won’t talk about them separately, all of them are about 8/10. They have never written this kind of recommendation, so I helped them and translated their letters myself, so I know what they wrote. They tried to elaborate on how I work in the class, who I am as a person, and what I do outside the class.
Interviews
Knox College – 2/10. It was very awkward because, in the middle of the interview, the lady from the office of admission just told me, "You know that we don’t offer full-ride scholarships and expect your family to contribute at least 20k, right?" Well, that’s probably why they rejected me, oops.
Bowdoin College – 10/10! The interviewer was an alumnus of the college, he really seemed to like me, especially since he’s a photographer, and I’m interested in this too. He said he liked my thoughts about what I can gain in college very much. Also, he told me a lot about the college and his experience. In the end, he unexpectedly said ‘goodbye’ in my native language! He didn’t mention knowing it. And then he said something like ‘I hope we both will be able to call ourselves Bowdoin’s alumni'. Such a nice man.
Essays
Personal statement – 9/10. Well, to me, it seems very good. I gave it to my friends to read, and they liked it very much. I didn’t give it to anyone else because I was afraid that somebody would copy it. I wrote about my passion for exploring the world and how it’s reflected in my hobby, postcrossing. I know it may not sound that interesting, but I actually wrote in a creative, non-standard way where a postcard was a metaphor for my exploring soul. I spent a lot of time writing it and edited it several times.
Additional essays for colleges that requested them were like 7/10, I think. I didn’t spend much time on them—just a day or something. But they weren’t that bad.

I(26M) have been living in the US since 2018. Before that, I spent the majority of my life in a boarding school in India. Till class 5th, I was living with my parents but after that, my father thought that the quality of education in my town was trash so I was sent to a boarding school. It was not a military style, but you would get punished for every minor thing. Didn't go to sleep by 10:30? Punishment. Didn't wake up by 5:15? Punishment. Didn't move your ass to the ground by 5:30 for jogging/running? Punishment. I was also bullied a lot, and when I'd tell my parents about it (calls only on Sundays), they'd say that I might have done something which led to me getting bullied. Needless to say, I started seeing things around me as B&W. But yeah that'd be a long story.
I'd describe myself as a playful kid who scored 97%+ almost always. My father wasn't always emotionally available, but he did provide a lot for me. For example, he NEVER went to drop me to the bus/train/plane when I moved away from them. Never went on a trip with them. Never acknowledged my achievements. Sometimes he would joke that the kids my age play instruments/sports but I don't do any such thing. And I'd say, "If you had paid even a small amount of attention towards YOUR kid, then you'd know he plays guitatabla and has played basketball for SAI on numerous occasions." He wasn't fond of me choosing Engineering over Medicine. But that's another story. BUT... he did give me resources and provided me means that brought me to where I am today. One major example would be my education loan, where he was my guarantor. In the past few years, he has tried really REALLY hard to be there for me emotionally.
My mom, on the other hand, it has been difficult maintaining a relationship with her. I love her a lot but so does she. But... I was subjected to A LOT of corporal punishment during the little time I was with them. Even for the silliest of things. You want extra pickle during lunch? *slap*. Your younger sister made a mess? *you get slapped*. So when she makes the same mistakes now, I can't help but feel resentment. It didn't matter to me as a kid because I thought it was normal. In the past few years, she deliberately does exactly the opposite of what was told/agreed upon. Some things are silly but bother me because it has to be repeated to her a lot. Some cases would be, I don't like Garam Masala on the stuffing of aloo paratha, so I made the stuffing myself and asked her not to put Garam Masala. She said yes, and took the stuffing to the kitchen. I knew she would do exactly the opposite, so I followed and saw her sneakily putting Garam Masala. This was 4 months ago during my trip to India. I was like, "man come on!". Some other cases would be her telling my relatives how much I earn. Sometimes, it feels as if she uses my achievements as a weapon against acquaintances/relatives. I shared with her that one of my aunts was trying to make advances on me, and guess what "she hates her", so she found a topic to gossip about and told it to another one of my aunts. Other such examples are, I ask her to let me know if she is going to put me on hold when on call. How difficult can it possibly be, right? Well, she puts me on hold and when I call her from the US, I don't get the same line "the person you are trying to call has put you on hold", instead it's just void. So you don't even know if the other person has stopped speaking or put you on hold. When it happened the first few times, I asked her to give me a heads-up before doing that. Now it really started itching me, a few days ago it happened again, and I said, "I can't even say I am disappointed. Be happy that I am at least telling you my feelings, next time I will just hang up." She apologized obviously that she will be mindful next time, BUT it has happened so many times that I feel her apologies mean nothing, instead it feels as if she wants to deflect the conversation by saying sorry and getting away from being held accountable. When you confront her, she starts crying and that gives me anxiety because her health has been really fragile after COVID.
I have tried talking with my father about this, but he says it's difficult for him to hold the family together if "you guys" keep fighting over the silliest of things. I asked him to not pick a middle ground and "for once" listen to me without saying anything else. He suggested I go low contact/no contact with mum. Which is extremely difficult. I have been getting anxiety attacks and considering I am so far away from any of my immediate family members doesn't help either. I just feel lost when it comes to discussing it with them. Dad is always going to find a middle ground, and mom will always apologize and will come back to doing the same thing. I loved coming home (India) before, but I don't feel at peace when I am at home.
Has it ever happened with you guys? Any advice is appreciated.

So I’ve been seeing this girl for just over 3 months and everything has been perfect. We have a ton in common we get along so easily, sex is great etc We are really physically affectionate, we kiss, and cuddle all night. We say really sweet stuff to eachother, it’s been amazing. However sometimes I have been pushing her out of he comfort zone. By this I mean I said I couldn’t see her if she was still dating other guys so we became exclusive and then a month or so later I said I want her to meet my friends / be official etc She has mentioned that this stuff scares her and we have had a few arguments about it or just discussions.
Anyway last weekend we are in her car and she is getting maps up on her phone and I see she still has tinder and hinge on her phone so I make a comment and we argue. She hasn’t been actually using them but still. She has since agreed it was a bit muggy but said they make her feel like she is clinging on to her independence, and it’s not actually about using the apps at all. She has said that she loses herself in relationships and she is not sure she is ready for that.
Anyway she ended it, said she couldn’t keep hurting me by not reciprocating what I needed and couldn’t handle the pressure I was putting on her. Fair enough, my fault.
She texted me this morning to say about dropping my stuff off and asked how I was. I said miserable etc and she said she was too, Anyway we got talking and she ended up saying how she needs therapy to work through why she can’t commit. She said that she has never liked the thought of committing even with her past long term boyfriends and ended up resenting them for it because it was they wanted and not her. She said she can’t go through another break up and that’s why she is scared. She said her last breakup almost killed her and the only thing they had together was a rented house. She had to watch her mother go through a divorce and once kids are involved etc she doesn’t want to go through that and hurt the whole family or feel trapped in a loveless marriage. She would rather be alone forever than face any of these prospects.
She wants to get therapy and hopefully fix why she doesn’t want to commit to anyone. She always thought it had to do with the other person and their faults but that I am the most perfect man and she feels so much for me that now she has realised it is a problem that is going to affect her future because she cannot being herself to commit to me, she is too scared.
We are both devastated. I am the type of person that could not hold myself to this level of self improvement and would just drop it all and be with the person I want to be with but she is determined to do what’s best for both of us. She said she thought about continuing to see me during therapy but she has no idea what is going to come from it and she needs no distractions to fix the chaos in her head. I know she has some childhood trauma. She said it wouldn’t be nice for me to know she is going to therapy so she can commit to me and that she fears the therapy might become more about mine and her relationship instead of about her herself.
I told her to call me after she sorts herself out and if she still thinks of me/ has feelings and she has said she would. A very small part of me feels like she is playing with me but i believe that to be my own insecurity, I told her these concerns and even mentioned ‘it would be easier if you just weren’t that into me’ to which a he replied ‘I’m sorry if the truth hurts but I don’t want to lie to you’. The whole time we were together she was very transparent with good and bad things, so I do believe her mostly.
I obviously have to move on but my question is does this seem like she actually likes me as much as she says. Should I just forget about her?
I really felt something real and pure with this girl, I’m crushed and I don’t know what to think. I do trust her but this whole concept of ‘I have to fix myself first’ and not being with someone you are desperate to be with because you ‘cant’ is just so alien to me. But I am trying to be as understanding as possible. Has anyone else been through something similar? How did it work out?

My boyfriend and I have been together for six months. The first stages of our relationship he was really sweet and sounded like a man coming into my life with good intentions. I will say we had a bunch of ups and downs but we got over it and forgave each other. It had nothing to do with cheating. He did mention he had lost respect for me and didn't like me anymore at one time because we got into an aggressive argument and I threaten to falsely accuse him of beating me. A while back he got falsely accused by his previous ex and I had threaten to do it again. I was just hurt and being ignorant wasn't serious but he didn't like hearing that. The relationship was okay after. No more fights, arguments nothing and i've been nothing but nice to him but its going downhill. He has turn into a completely different person unexpectedly. Weeks ago, he had completely shut me out his life randomly and I finally got an answer why. He was angry at me and brought up the police incident all of a sudden. We hadn't talked about that in a while but it crossed his mine. We had gotten over it but just then he brings it up and he's calling me names like h** and at the same time told me he didn't like me anymore and that its over. I begged for forgiveness but he was ready to end things. However, later that day he calls to tell me im not a bad person but some of the things i do upset him and he was just upset.
I let what happened go and everything was back to being ok. 2 weeks go by and now he's been creating cheating scenarios of me. Every day when I talk to him he's being so mean to me and just accusing me of cheating. I'm an introvert, im shy and I don't go out. I send screenshots of my call logs, text messages, screenshots from my security camera of me at home but he doesn't believe it.He's been carefully watching what I say and if any itty bitty tiny thing comes off suspicious he accuses me of cheating and tries to initiate a break up. He accused me last week and dumped me one day without letting me explain. I cried the whole day but then he calls me very late at night to apologize and tell me he wasn’t serious about the break up. So this time, I get so angry i get to thinking. I overreact again but this time I threaten to make him look bad to everyone and will make him be known as a woman beat er if he ever pulls something like that again. He did not like hearing that and last time he was very curious and brought it up twice and was wanting to know if I was serious. It looked like he was going to cry a little.
Dating still..we didn't talk for 3 days after that and I asked him where'd he been. He tells me that he was with me but i could have remembered that if I wasn't so busy talking to other men. I responded with just "not really" but then he goes on to tell me I must have gotten a new boyfriend. It's hard to tell if he's playing with me or being serious cause he does this all the time. We talked for just a minute that Saturday and he calls. Right when I answered he says this.... "you're really sad. you really must think im stupid and think I don't know you've been seeing other men?" I got sick of it and asked was he dating someone else. No but only accusing me because some of the things I tell him are coming off as suspicious. He’s been MIA for two days. He’s been leaving me on seen and has been ignoring this person also that’s mutual friends with us(who is the reason him and I are dating). We can never get along and there's always an issue with him. is he not right in the head or is it just me and should I wait for him?
TL;DR: boyfriend keeps starting drama out of the blue that causes me to say and threaten harsh things I don’t mean.
