2023.03.22 09:28 Gloomy_Ad_5843 Debunking India is rape Capital fallacy
What in my opinion makes it worse is victim blaming.US also has a victim blaming going on specially in their college campuses.
In the US, a video recording of the crime can be, and is used as evidence in the court. While in India, a video recording is used to shame and silence the victim. Also how are you comparing how law acts on video evidence in US with how public reacts on video evidence?
I remember how a while ago, name of the rape victim was among the highest searched terms on a porn site. Shameful is a rather soft term for this. Each time the news of a rape makes headlines, along comes a sexist remark from a party leader.Unfortunately same things happen in US as well. It's just that their population is not high enough to make them reach number one on search list.
I don't know much about the politics around sexual crimes in the US, but I can safely say that the chances that a victim gets justice and leads a comparatively normal life without judgements from peers is higher in the US.I don't know anything about a country but I will say using my inferiority complex that US is better. This is what this statement looks like.
That being said, this is a horrible crime and not something to compete about. The number must be zero both in India and around the world. Then preach it to the US idiots filled with superiority complex before coming here. Why is it that preachers always try to persuade the retaliators and not the aggressors?
Just wondering, where do you think rape cases get more unreported? India or America?I gave you detailed answer of this question with data but I didn't knew your pea sized brain was unable to process this data.

Not half as much effective as Indian blaming culture. Your whole life is ruined NOT coz of the mental effect on the victim but coz of the enormous shaming the society does. And don't compare the effects also coz India is a collectivistic society, the opinion of the collective matters more here. That is just your opinion. There is no statistical evidence to suggest that. Shaming does exist but if you want to claim it is higher or lower than other countries, statistics are needed not opinions.
No it's not. The reason the law acts that way is CONNECTED to how the people react. Honour culture is not as prominent there so it's considered appropriate to use videos as evidence.Absolutely false. Law is independent of the feelings of the people. That is why it's law.
Ummm...the OPPOSITE is true you know that right? Data collection in India is bad and since we like to attach shame to women's bodies many people don't even report.False. Public opinions are not defined by statistical data but news reports.
Again the opposite is true. We are the ones that try to hide it as much as we can. And no US media houses don't do that, it's a different thing that in the US every city has its own channel but no they don't burry it or sweep anything under the carpet.Evidence? Just saying "opposite is true" won't make it to be.
You don't NECESSARILY have to know about the hair thin nuances to know what the culture around it is like. A knowledge on how they treat things like sex, women and men is quite enough to draw conclusions.Yeah sure. Discuss on rape and laws without knowing the laws.
The rate of rape in India is low, even factoring in a high degree of under-reporting.
“The foreign media always describes India as having the maximum number of rapes, but this is not true,” said Flavia Agnes, a women’s rights lawyer with Majlis Legal Centre in Mumbai.
The past year has seen headlines reading, 'Understanding India's rape crisis' or 'Rape capital image affecting Indian tourism?' Others use anecdotal evidence to place India among the top five least safe countries for women in the world. However, these media reports, both Indian and foreign, strike far from the truth.

Benin will have to watch out for their visitors, who have a good record on the road recently with only one loss in their last six away games. Defensively tight, Rwanda only conceded two goals in the game. Odds analysis Rwanda's defensive strength and the hosts' lack of goals, the low-scoring result should be the preferred betting angle for what should prove a tight first leg. Pick under. |
