Hello all,
I decided to upgrade my whole build finally after 2017 and got myself a nice setup except the GPU. Now I went ahead and ordered the MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio since I caught a small discount. As a PSU, I have the Corsair RM850x (2021) version which I got 4 months ago. As you already now, it comes with a 2x PCI-E cables. I guess the adapter comes with the GPU requires 3x 8 pin PCI-E input. How should I proceed? Anyone out there using the "daisy chain" method for the 3rd one? Do you suggest ordering a new cable in the long run? I won't be OC'ing the card at all. At least in the short-medium term. Thanks for your input.

Guys, last night a friend of mine showed me he can open those Boxes in the item shop. He was a poor WT new player and spent SL on two Boxes. He didn't won anything worthy.
So... me, having a rezerve of 10million SL - nothing to do with them - decided to spend some of them until I actually win sOmEtHiNg.
We have started with 20 crates and the rewards were just few SL, universal backups and some wagers.
Then I've gone full nuts - "let's see what' a chance in a 100 is!" So I've bought 100 pinatas + keys. Guys. The most "worthy" obj was a Senegal 0.11GJN Flag Decal, the rest of the rewards being more of the same I got in my first 20 tries.
My friend told me 99.99% of gamblers stop playing just before winning the big jackpot. So I've bought another 100 pinatas and keys, and I've actually won... .... ... Just 20 percent of my money back. It was one time I got 1 million SL and 2x 500.000 SL, but guys I was looking for awesome rewards! Hell, I've spent all my 11.000.000 lions for 220 crates just to see it spinning them all away from me.
I feel like I've sold my house to gamble all of the money. I have nothing left - what do I do?

I recently came across a Mavica CD-500 at a thrift store and I had to have it since I've got several floppy Mavicas. The charger for my Sony 8mm camcorder also worked for the CD-500 and surprisingly the battery still holds what seems like a full charge.
I had some Mini-CD-Rs that I bought around 20 years ago that I had never used. They were still new in the box. So I open them up and try one out. First the camera says "Mavica Disc Recommended" so I figured the drive must be reading the disc to know it isn't Mavica branded. When it tried to initialize the disc it would fail with "Disc Error C:13:01" I tried several other CDs from the same pack and had the same result.
At this point I figured that maybe the brand of Mini CD-Rs I had just weren't compatible since they were a generic brand. So I go on Ebay and buy a brand new Sony Mavica CD-RW. I open it up and pop it in and get the same error. The camera does read it as a CD-RW disc as it shows RW in the top right corner. So the drive seems to be reading the disc.
My guess is that while the drive is able to read a disc it isn't able to burn to disc. I assume that it is more or less dead and will just be a display item to go alongside my floppy Mavicas. I know that on some devices when the laser is going out that you can adjust a pot on the circuit board for the laser to give it more power. I would try that but I'm guessing that it is most likely a royal pain to take the thing apart.
I know its days as a functional camera are probably behind it but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here and see what you guys had to say. Thanks.

A free and easy hack that has made me so much more organized is to save every single shoebox I have and use it as a an organizational tool.
It first started when I saw a hack about using shoeboxes in your underwear drawer to organize your bras and socks and underwear. I know use it for everything. I have my toiletries organized in shoeboxes, my hobbies' things in shoeboxes, our spices, my hair things, everything is in shoeboxes. If everything has a place, it really helps me stay organized and not drive my husband crazy with my things everywhere. We both deserve to not live in a chaos house, which is where my ADHD instincts tend to lead me.
You can also buy plastic boxes or baskets that will look nicer than shoeboxes, but at least to start, why not go with the free option?

So yesterday I paid the council tax my letter said I owed via the council website. I'll try to explain this by the digits in the boxes, so bear with me 😅 My balance went from [110- ] . [54] to [221-] . [08] I'm pretty confused because I'm sure we owed, but since the figure seems to have gone up, is this a refund?

I kept avoiding this conversation for a while, with the “maybe we can talk about this later”. But after getting triggered through social media, I decided to finally open up about this. My hands were shaky texting my therapist, while booking a session.
I had online classes after the session, but I felt so down that all I wanted to do was go lay down on bed in the dark, weeping a bit while remembering and thinking about how the next session will be since, chronologically, we only went throughout half of it at best. I managed to fall asleep after a couple of hours, and tried to distract myself a bit with YouTube. When I stopped and then just sat on my bed, in the dark, and straight up started sobbing for a couple of minutes. Then I took some sleeping pills and slept until early evening, missing more classes. Which led to spending the night ruminating and distracting myself. I still felt sad, but more stable, although incapable of doing anything productive.
Since that traumatic time ended, about a year ago, I progressively started to avoid more and more to talk about it. I thought about it with some frequency but kept to myself. Now it feels as if a box full of hurt was opened, and it’s overwhelming. I’m a bit apprehensive about the next session, about it taking this toll on me again. I hope it gets easier, but I think it will take some time getting to that point.
I can’t deny there was some sort of solace though, it felt as if I was procrastinating this. Now, after starting to open up is like there’s a bit less height on my shoulders and I may be able to properly heal this emotional wound.

I am male 25 living in Central Europe. In short I live in a apartment in the centre of a medium sized city in my country. I work in banking and can say I earn above average despite having less experience than most. Work out, read, go out to hike - this is the way I spend my free time. Unfortunatelly, no sucess on the love front.
Now we get to the issue. Opposite the building where I live, lives a couple - man and woman around 3-4 years my senior. They have been living there since the covid outbreak. I was a student back then and apart of studying, working out and going shopping I looked at the neighbours windows and because they are the only ones my age they caught my attention. As time went on my fondness for them grew. With that I started to envy them - the long talks on the balcony at the summer nights, going to work together in the morning. I wished after Covid was over I would find a girlfriend and experience that too. To no avail. I doubt it will happen soon. At least how can I stop envying them. I try to forces myself, so but it happens to looj out the window and one of them to be there.
P. S I believe I will get some comments of the sort "You actually do not know how happy they are they might be more miserable than you" Please refrain from those as they seem pretty happy laughing and joyfully talking and despite the fact that with laughter there might be also conflict it is better that way than a same boring emotionless life that I am living now.

Sabrina: It's just that I miss Chloe, I know she was mean to me at times but we were still good friends

Felix knows what the game is exactly about so does Nathalie they instantly choose the circle Marinette goes for the square, Kagami goes for the triangle and Adrien goes for the umberlla. Then the front lady gives an announcement
Front Lady: Welcome to the second round you here you have been given a honey comb biscuit with the shape you selected inside your tin your goal is to get the biscuit out if you fail to do so in 1 hour you will be eliminated. If you mess up you will be eliminated.
At 5:00pm sharp the game begins and everyone is in panick
Adrien: Seriously, why did I chose the Umbrellla
Felix: Don't give up on your self you can do this, I will always believe in you
Early in the game Felix and Nathalie manage to succeed we see people getting shot 1 by 1, Marinette and Kagami finish soon after. As the timer falls to 30 minutes Adrien is worried
Adrien: Come on, Come on.
Adrien is getting more and more worried as the timer begins to go to 15 minutes and soon 10 minutes and then he gets an idea
Adrien: Wait if this is sugar then I can just lick it off
Adrien licks the biscuit and gives the final product to the guards others around him follow suit, quickly runs back to the bunk rooms.
VIP Lounge
Gabriel sees everything and is impressed by his son's thinking
Elite 1: Gabriel, see I knew your son will win just look at his thinking
Gabriel sighns in relief
Gabriel: Thats good to hear I was worried for a second
Playground
Its 5:59 and there is only a few more seconds left till the end of the game there are still people at the surface

The guards shoot every last person who is left at the playground
Bunk Rooms
We see everyone who is left back at the bunk rooms the number of survivors has dropped to just 90 people less than 1/2 of the people who were there before the game
Marinette: Thank god you're okay Adrien
Adrien: Don't worry
Felix: We shouldn't be calm for too long who knows what will happen next
Kagami: Dinner has arrived we should probably eat now we really need the energy if we want to win
Every person is given water and a lunch box with rice and vegetables
Person 1: Seriously
Person 2: I know right
Everyone ate and most people are now in the recreation room, Marinette and Adrien are playing foosball, Lila and Sabrina talking together, Nathalie is listening to music, Kagami is reading a Manga and Felix is jotting down his plans
Lila: Well that was easy
Sabrina: I know but how are we going to sabotage Marinette
The lights go out all of sudden and everyone is in panick mode but is afraid to move
Marinette: What was that
Adrien: I don't know
Person 3: Screaming
The screams of three people can be heard before the lights flicker the first time the three people are seen dead and the second time everyone is holding a bloody knife.
Person 1: Attack
Person 4: Lets all calm down
Everyone in a fit of rage begins fighting in both rooms
Adrien: Marinette run
Adrien and Marinette run to the bunk room to the top of the bunk beds the room is darker than usual but it is still possible to see
Kagami: Are you guys okay we heard screaming
Adrien: I don't think so there is a fight going on
Marinette: Hopefully the guards will help use
Control Room
Gabriel: Ah yes this is all going to plan and Adrien has managed to run to safety
Tomoe: Good, just make sure our children are safe
Bunk Rooms:
The attacks also reach the bunk rooms and it becomes a fight to the death
Felix: Adrien come here
While the cameras are focused on the fight Felix briefs Adrien on the plan
Adrien: How did you get the schematics
We suddenly reach a flash back
Flash back Atlantic Island
At this time Atlantic island was still under construction Felix had taken screen shots to several schematics of the island showing every possible route. We then go to flashback of him at his house
Flash Back Felix's house
Felix: And there we have managed to stich in every key detail of the the map
Duusu: It's looking good
Felix: Now all we need is a way to get in without getting caught.
Amelie: What are you up to Felix
Felix: Nothing mum can you please go
Amelie: Anything for my boy
We then cut back to the present fighting scene
Bunk Rooms, Present
Felix: A little spying
Adrien: Aren't we going to get caught, they probably already caught us
Felix: Don't worry as long as they are focused on the fight they wont worry about us
Felix then grabs a set of tools here he has a gun, a small handheld device, a usb and screw driver.
Felix: Once I insert this usb I will always have direct access to the entire system allowing me to make changes to the security system
Adrien: How are you going to do that
Felix: Just watch and learn
Felix opens a box with a few screws allowing him to insert a usb. He manages to do all of this in a matter of minutes
The fight rages on until 30 minutes have passed here the guards have came to stop the fight as they seize everyone's knives.
Marinette: Thank god we are alright, I am going off to bed
Felix: Me two
Kagami: Me three
Adrien: Me four
Nathalie: Same
They all fall asleep as they are tired after fighting
Control Room
Elite 1: That was amazing Gabriel you need to do this again
Gabriel: Well it is not in the roster and they have probably already caught on don't worry though we have more surpises planned, I just wished that, Marinette Dupain Chang was dead already
Tomoe: Well Gabriel about that we do have some luck
Gabriel: Tomoe tell me more
Tomoe: Apparantely both Lila and Sabrina are planning to plot against Marinette maybe we should assist them

After the fight everyone decided to go to sleep as the lights went out Lila is still awake on her bed while the guards are cleaning up the scene. Lila gets a notification on her alliance

My trap build was a bust. I think it needs a player with a high level alt since all my characters are in their late 20's I am not able to get it set up well. Right out of the box Traps are not good.
Trying other stuff but also trying to avoid stuff like Whirlwind and Toxic Flame because I wanted something a bit out there.

Hey guys so we have a project currently running and we're looking for experienced tech wizards to help our mission to preserve a debug build of the game our community is based around Steel Battalion Line of Contact for Original Xbox. steelbattaliononline
This is the story so far:
-What we know about the Debug file/why we want it:
The debug version of the game is the oldest known obtainable version of the game (and the oldest known playable version of the game). The absolute oldest known build would be the E3 build, however it is currently doubtful that could ever be obtained nor is it likely that it still exists. The oldest obtained build right now is the Pilot Test, however it is unplayable since it was built to run on the xbox live beta campaign servers. This debug version (October 4, 2003) is almost 2 months older than the Pilot test (November 24th. 2003), making it not only the oldest obtainable version, but also (likely) the oldest playable version of the game, too.
The debug version of the game also holds a TON of debug info on how the game works and what the stats are for many things (stats obv not applicable to the release version, but gives us a good idea of how things work). See: https://imgur.com/a/9dJjC.
The rar file is 222.1mb in size. From the screenshots the file size is supposed to be 552.61mb, however this is it in its uncompressed state. To compare, compressing the final game (594 MB) gives us a file at a similar size (in my testing I got 222mb using 7z), so it’s highly likely that the file size is correct and that this file is in fact the debug version of the game.
What we currently know about the password: The rar would have been encoded in 2015 using winrar.

THE STORY SO FAR & FAQ
In ~2015, PERSON A saved a dev xbox from capcom offices where he worked.
PERSON A asked his friend PERSON B to serve as an intermediary to find a buyer for it on assemblergames (where his username was ‘coolmod’); because PERSON B had a much longer history there and b/c PERSON A was nervous to be associated w/ the item online.

PERSON B sold the xbox to PERSON C, and as a courtesy dumped the hard drive for him.
PERSON B password protected the .rar for two reasons It’s standard practice and expected among collectors when exchanging prototype software out of concern for the slightly sensitive position of his capcom employee friend.
PERSON B relayed the password to PERSON C via a PM on assemblergames. PERSON B threw out the files b/c they were not of interest to him anymore and he considered the matter closed.
About a decade passes…
PERSON B finds he accidentally kept a copy of the .rar on a backup drive and rethinks its value, but has no records available, nor memory of the password.
(see dead “ends” below) In 2023, PERSON B mentions to his friend, u/Tenfresh, that he has a password protected .rar of the LoC beta. WHAT?!?!
Dead Ends (AKA what’s already been tried): PERSON B is slightly amazed he still had the .rar file on a hard drive at all. He is moved by how much we care, and has looked high and low and does not have an uncompressed version, nor can he find the password.
Assemblergames has since gone defunct so the PM containing the password there is lost.
Inquiries have been made to those involved w/ the site and we’ve been told that there is almost no chance that a backup/archive of the site exists.
PERSON B reached out to PERSON C a few years ago, but he said he no longer could find the password either, and had since sold the xbox to PERSON D (whose identity is currently unknown [Le Fishy: I’m pretty confident I know who this is, however it’s a hard dead end]).
PERSON C’s name and 2015 address are known, and another outreach is in progress; but we’re not giving that info out publicly.
The hard drive that the uncompressed file was on when the .rar was created no longer exists; so data recovery is not an option.

So I bought a new Rtx 4090 gigabyte gaming OC card from newegg new for 1700 dollars. I made sure to not buy the open box or refurbished but received a clearly opened and used box. The graphics card was missing wraps on the fans and some of the heat sink fins were bent and banged up. I requested a replacement since I wanted the card and was promised a New Sealed box. I went without a graphics card for about a week and today recorded the whole process from door to opening. Same issue, it was missing wraps on the graphics card and some fingerprints and dirt on the backplate plastic. I don’t trust that they can give me a honest replacement thats new since they did it to me twice and I can’t go long without a card for too long since Im in university and use it daily. I didn’t pay so much money that I saved for just to be screwed over by not allowing returns and offering used replacements. I don’t like that parts are missing or opened when I make such a large purchase for a new product. I am no scalper and waited a long time to purchase it at MSRP from newegg like my last gigabyte card. Should I try to negotiate for a refund, or go and hope for another replacement that may be opened? I am seriously considering contesting it with my credit card company since it isn’t fair that I have only the option to request a replacement that even when promised new is also opened and missing parts.

so i just finished xenosaga 1 and i have a lot of thoughts . firstly the battle system is fun and i would have enjoyed playing the game far more if the boss fights were actually fair or engaging . they all felt very gimmicky and unfun . secondly i fucking loved the scope and scale of the story but the characters did not get enough time for me to care that much . momo shion and allen were the only characters that i really started to get attached too. The amount of mystery boxes and unexplained shit is scaring me a bit doe . what was the miltia conflict , dafaq is udo , what is the y data , what is the song , whose the weird zohar lady with the kids etc etc . i hope these questions are answered properly in the second and third game without it being to confusing . overall it was a very fun experience but probably the weakest xeno game ive played ( ive beated every xeno series exept saga ) 7/10.

I know that it's extremely simplistic to flat out suggest or imply that OK Go's treadmill music video from 2006 is what directly to MTV to air Ridiculousness and other cheap reality programming for the bulk of their schedule some 15 or so years later.
But I still think that it isn't that much of a stretch to say that OK Go provided something of a "Nirvana effect" with the "Here It Goes Again" video. I don't recall Todd discussing it in detail when he did his One Hit Wonderland video on them but according to the director of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video, Samuel Bayer " “If Nirvana ushered in the grunge generation, it seemed like OK Go ushered in playing videos on the internet.”
And of course, "Here It Goes Again" would become one of the first massively viral sensations on YouTube. You can actually make a fair argument that OK Go and "Here It Goes Again" blowing up like it did on YouTube helped saved the music video as a viable artform and promotional tool in light of MTV's gradual network decay.

Hey guys, I passed last week and I have gotten so much help from this sub thought I should give back!

1. Pre-test anxiety and self doubt are your no. 1 enemies. The doubt will make you spiral and question yourself but remember numbers don't lie. If you have >90% chance of passing, the exam is not going to be out of the world and you will do the same as average of your nbmes on the real deal.
2. Identify your strengths early on. I knew I was never big on knowledge and studying great amounts of detail were useless for score augmentation. I had studied great deal of concepts and had gone through various resources but still barely passed initial assessments. Problem for me was understanding what the question asked.
3. I started doing amboss, second pass of uworld, retired nbme forms and some usmle Rx. I worked on approaching each question with maanik's way of "tactical empathy". You can watch his video on test taking strategies to understand what it is. But essentially train yourself to pick out buzz words, read the last line, look at the picture and answer by eliminating options. Knowledge does play a role but if you are struggling to pass you need to work on testing strategies.
4. My resources were numerous. Big mistake by popular belief but worked for me. Thing is every resource had a stronger subject or system explained better in comparison to others. It would take me forever to complete my topics but it was worth it.
5. Nothing is the bible I would say. We hear about UFAP, bnb anki but at the end of the day besides NBMEs and Uworld nothing else is absolutely necessary!!
6. You don't need crazy high scores. Once you have 65- 70 on nbmes and > 70 on free 120 take the damn thing. If your basics are covered the exam has enough gimmes and medium difficulty questions for you to pass.
7. Recognise that you will do it but at your pace. Comparison is a killer and be patient. Patience and consistency is the key!! You will get there maybe not when you want to but eventually you do!

Hey there -
I have a friend with a 99’ built home. The original incandescent lights are going out.
I got up on a ladder and pulled them from the molding. Nearly had a heart attack as they weren’t fixed in place at all (tape was paper by now) but I have the lengths.
The only rope lights I could find at Lowe’s/Home Depot were some utilitech led models. I attached them and at the lowest setting on the dimmer switch - there’s still a faint light/standby current. I believe this means the luitron switch model has to be pulled at the tab at the bottom to kill standby - which isn’t going to work for this person. They just want the switch/remote to work. They want to stick with the warm light as this is in the living room and bedroom.
I’m looking for some advice:
Rope vs strip. Ropes are heavy and they were just laid in the grooves of this molding - I’m sure that didn’t help with the degradation. What would you recommend for this application?
And to piggyback off this - is there a way I can get led lights that won’t pick up that standby current in the formerly “off” position on this switch? I’m hoping to get a cuttable spool/strips and just attach it down the line - which leads me to:
How would y’all attach this? Lay it in the trim again (led route no heat) or staple strips horizontally inside?
Thanks for any advice - I’m thinking I’ll need something around 170 ft or so.
Also - bonus question - there was a former install attempt for a gfi on this stucco and the wire for the window alarm was cut. I can see it from the outside through that hole and the inside window trim bottom. Any tips on the best route to rerun that? It’s a tiny little cable and I could open it a bit more as a outlet/box/cover are going on top of here anyways
