2023.03.22 10:32 Delicious-Pin3996 Anybody had a situation like this? My Nmom accused somebody else of physically abusing us, and now SHE’S telling people it’s not true.

So, obviously this is some kind of gaslighting, but it just feels so insane to me. Can anybody really act like this on purpose? Is she really that evil? Why???
So when my sister and I were preschool age(2/3 and 4/5 respectively) my moms 3 teenage brothers came to live in our home. Their parents were alcoholics, and their home environment was extremely violent. These teenage boys would watch us during the day since we were not in preschool.
They were extremely neglectful of us. Sometimes we were denied food, or put in “time out” for literally hours, so that they could smoke weed and get drunk with their friends, among other things. We were too scared to tell our parents at that time because we were scared we would get in more trouble, but when we got older, we eventually told them what went on, but nothing came of it.
Just over a year ago out of the blue my mom broke down in tears and apologised to my sister about the physical abuse she had endured from our teenage uncles, and apologised, and told us she’d seen bruises but they’d explained it away and she was so so sorry. We’d never reported any major physical abuse so this was a shock to us. We were distraught.
Yesterday I found out that my mom has been telling my dad that there was no abuse at all, and that she “saw us naked all the time”, and never saw a single bruise on us.
Did she just make up the bruises as a way to discredit our whole version of events? Or were there really bruises but her pitiful apology didn’t get her the attention she wanted so she’s changing tactics? I just can’t fathom why she is doing this.

2FA is pretty inconvenient and at the same time, restrictive to folks who don't have access to mobile phones and only a borrowed PC, majority of whom are students. 2FA is also vulnerable to various attacks. This is just opposite to GitHub vouching for "inclusivity" and "diversity". I don't have a phone now, does that mean I am locked in? And no, I don't want to use my parent or sibling's phone. They have their own shit to deal with. What's pissing me off is that a large chunk of jobs require that you're on GitHub to share projects/take-home assignments and possibly even the entire organizational infrastructure, or else I would have moved to GitLab. Simply asking the user to move to passphrase from password would've done the trick.

Hey!
Gonna visit some friends in LA this summer, we're going to hang out during the weekends of my stay ( 3 weekends plus a holiday) so I can go around easily with them by car, hitting the major spots in LA and San Diego.
But during the two work weeks I'll be there I still haven't figured out exactly what to do. I'm planning to go North up to San Francisco area in one and East to Las Vegas/Grand Canyon in the other.
Is there something I should add to the bucket list? I don't drive by myself, so only shuttles, trains and buses work for me. I might meet up with another friend and rent a car to go around Grand Canyon at most.

My father was admitted in one of the private hospitals here and at the time of discharge, they just took the money without any bills. Later after reaching home, when I asked my uncle who paid the money, he told that they didn't give anythjng. When I asked them for bills, they got a yellow paper on which one guy just wrote the amount. Again I went to this hospital and asked them for a proper bill. They said that this is the bill and when I resisted, they got it signed by doctor and stamped it. I told them this is not the bill and I won't get the reimbursement but they said it's fine and if it does not work, I can comeback. My father was critical so I couldn't pursue and came back.
Later, as expected, I was notified by insurance company that this bill is not acceptable. Now when I went back to the hospital, they are saying to bring back the original bill if I want a detailed bill. I brought Xerox copy of their useless bill as I already submitted the original. Now, the guy at counter started fighting with me and said he can't generate a new bill or a duplicate or anything unless original paper is not brought to him. I told him that I have already submitted and it's not possible but he kept insisting and refused.
I spoke to insurence company and they say that a proper bill is required. What can I do in this case? Is there anyway I can file a complaint? Is this usual in Allahabad hospitals?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year and it’s been perfect. He’s the sweetest, most caring guy and I’ve been convinced he’s “the one”. We’re in love, have recently moved in together and have started trying for a baby. We met on a dating app and spoke for a couple of weeks before our first date. We’ve not spoke much about our sexual pasts as he really doesn’t like hearing about mine so I’ve never known much about his other than he’s been in relationships most of his life so therefore hasn’t slept with many people. Last night he came home upset and told me out of nowhere that while we were chatting on the dating app he slept with another girl who he’d met in a bar. This was before our first date and at a time when we didn’t yet have a date planned. He’s adamant that since our first date he’s not even talked to any other girl and I trust him on that. I’m just confused as to why he’s telling me this now, has he mislead me by not telling me sooner? He says he’s telling me now as it feels like a secret the longer it goes when before it just felt like it would be oversharing. I don’t like the idea that he’s been keeping something from me, that he was sleeping with someone else while we were chatting on the app and that he let me think I was the only one.

Nairobi is a financial powerhouse of East Africa so I assume there's a lot of banks that are fine and reliable? I wanted to send $10k to friend of mine in Nairobi. 2023.03.22 10:29 Elarisat Does your landlord increase your rent every year?

I have been living in the same apartment in Rotterdam for the past 5 years and my landlord always applies the annual increase to my rent (the max. determined by the government), but I have friends and colleagues that say their landlord has never (or only once) increased their rent. What is your experience?
