The chapter before, it's talked about as a war in different form. This is after the King's favorite... um, friend and consort is taken. Ryoufui kidnaps him to force Ryoufui to Qin, and calls assassins.
Below the surface, spies are everywhere. What happens to Riboku will be reported to China.
The other states would deal with Qin very differently if they used diplomacy to lure and murder a general. So, Ryoufui wants an excuse. He wants to be able to say Riboku insulted him.
So Ryoufui tries to bait Riboku into an area of discussion where Ryoufui could take insult.
Instead, Riboku insults himself. But, if you actually look at what he's saying, it's pretty clear he's not talking about himself. Everything he says applies directly to Ryoufui's tactic.
Ryoufui seems to agree. Because he drops the pretense and tells Riboku it's time to die.
That's when Riboku proposes an alliance instead. An offer they can't refuse.
It's just a cool scene, in my opinion. I'm sure there will be comments about how I'm reading too much into it. Shin would say the same, lol. He had no idea what they were talking about. Be smarter than Shin was at this point, he was pretty ignorant back then.

Isagi as of right now is one of the best players in Blue Lock and one of the best even on the global stage. Even though he's considered a world-class U-20 player, he still has weaknesses that he needs to improve. In this post, I'll be summing up all the weaknesses that Isagi needs to improve/overcome. [NOTE: I don't hate Isagi he's my favourite character in the manga, I'm just listing down his weaknesses]
PHYSICAL SPECS: This one is a no-brainer, Isagi has always been criticised for his low physical specs. And it is true that compare to the majority of the Blue Lock players he doesn't have a very impressive physique. But it's not like he has to become a player that makes his physical specs one of his skills(like Chigiri's speed or Tokimitsu's Immovable physique) he needs physical specs that are good enough to not hinder his current play OR Isagi said himself "his body wasn't able to keep up with his own vision and playmaking" Isagi during the MC match showed us that he lacked speed(he said if only he had Chigiri's speed) and stamina(bro literally played windows shut down music)BUT thanks to this match for the first time Isagi has thought of training a bit harder and is now even competing with Raichi in Shuttle run. So you can clearly see this weakness is somewhat covered
ONE-ON-ONE CONFRONTATIONS WITH THE BALL: Another thing that Isagi has been criticised a lot about and is true. He isn't good with one-on-one confrontations with the balls OR in simple words his dribbling skills are not good enough. Isagi is the type of player that relies on continuous one-two's to break through defence and score, so he always needs a partner with him. But it's not like it's always that he'll be left open to pass to his partner, he needs to learn how to break through opponents on his own to increase his options. Isagi doesn't need to become Bachira or Yukimya and have an incredible S-tier dribble, he needs skills that'll help him keep possession of the ball while running past his opponents. He doesn't need to change his playstyle but the ability to break past one or two players by himself will increase his options exponentially while passing. But in this match against Ubers, it is said that the key to beating Ubers lies in winning 1v1 battles. So let's hope that Isagi's new piece is something that helps him improve his 1v1 skills.
A CONSISTENCY IN GOAL SCORING: With meta vision, I don't think it is a weakness right now cause in the match against MC Isagi would have scored twice if it wasn't for his own teammates cock-blocking him (a teammate who's a U20 World 11 for God's sake). Before meta vision, it was always that said that Isagi only scores clutch goals and it is true, he lacked consistency in scoring goals before and in every match he has played he never scored more than one goal (the only exception being the 3v3 match against Reo-Chigiri-Kunigami where he scored two goals) But now with meta vision, Isagi has a consistent formula to score goals and according o him, his new piece is something that will overcome Kaiser cock blocking him.
This is all I had to say. I'm an Isagi fan, not an Isagi dick-rider. His weaknesses are something that he needs to improve and in this arc, we've seen him already overcome one of his weaknesses and you can also say that he's on his way to overcoming one more. This arc is definitely setting up Isagi to be a consistent goal scorers like Rin, Shidou and Barou. And this new piece specifically, as Isagi said himself gives him 100% goal-scoring chances. In this post, I've speculated what Isagi's new piece/skill is, based on his stats (here)
