Half baked harvest recipes

Unfortunately, since we have no similar concept in the C language like references in C++, I am always faced with the dilemma of whether to check for null for function arguments passed as pointers.
FYI, reference parameters in C++ are passed like a pointer (as an address) but treated like a value. The compiler makes sure that a value and not a direct null is passed (of course, this can also be circumvented by pointers to pointers, but that's not my point here). The benefit is the clear closed agreement between caller and callee at creation time.
In C, the compiler cannot clearly distinguish between a pointer that may be null (for example, because it is optional or perhaps it CAN be allocated). And a pointer, which may not be NULL, because it is used in the function!
Most implementations of the standard library, for example - as far as I know - do NOT check for src and dst being null in strcpy (I'm not concerned with the possible buffer overflow here).
Lately I ALWAYS and ONLY do an assert, knowing that it will be removed in the release. Possibly this half-baked checking in debug mode is out of date though? Other options would be to fatally exit the application with a note to the user, or check the pointer and not run the function at all, but then an error should be returned somehow.
How do you handle this?

It's funny that I love skating so much now when I was never as interested before. The wind you feel when skating is satisfying, you exercise without getting super sweaty or exhausted (for beginner stuff at least), and if you get too hot then it's no problem because you're in a giant freezer.
I tied my skates tighter than usual and went on to the still wet ice from the zamboni, so I nearly fell and my feet were swinging around like they were trying to fight a ghost LOL. A part of me died inside.
In the previous lesson, the coach saw me mess up at skating on outside edges and was surprised I attempted them, but I'm glad this time she saw/thought I was ready after seeing me do decently well with inside edges. I swear coaches sometimes only see you when you mess up :')
We praticed half bubbles in a circle, and thankfully it didn't feel as strange to do this time after some practice lol. When I practiced some more after lessons were over, a kind, bubbly lady even gave me tips on bettering my form! Apparently she's been skating for 15 years... That's wild.
Just a monthish ago I was in awe and wished to be those skaters who skated around the rink gracefully and freely without being wobbly in every step or skating slow, and now I am that skater! :D I did it!!
The next set of skating lessons starts soon, but I'm contemplating whether or not to take them. I would love to, but $40 is pricey for my budget, plus the eventual $7.50 for blade sharpening. Both my aunts offered to pay for lessons if I wanna take them again, but I feel bad since I can't get them nice things too besides cooking or baking something for them.

I have never been much of an active person or traveled much tbh, but I want to change that slowly going forward. Recently started hitting the gym (which is on and off :( ) to get rid of that pandemic fat. I’m 5’6 in height and weigh 72 kgs and look alright I suppose. I’m a non vegetarian and a social drinker, lately on a hiatus on drinking.
A social drinker is fine for me, but smoking is a deal breaker. Even habit of using any other drugs like weed and others also.
My mother tongue is Kannada and It’s been a decade I’m living in Bangalore. But I do have plans of setting abroad preferably Europe in a couple of years. But the chances of all that happening is not that good I feel but you never know!
Also lately I have been rather melancholic, dabbling between some existential crisis and self esteem/self worth issues. I am in the process of working on them. Decided to attend therapy finally this month after years of giving advice to other people and urging them to go to therapy. Pfff typical INFP 😒 Yet to find a decent therapist to keep it regular.
What I am looking for is a woman who is preferably 24-34 years old. Who is childfree, atheist, liberal, independent and empathetic and at least couple of our interests match and and and super kinky lol! 🙈

Recently loved House of the dragon! White lotus and euphoria. Man HBO shows are something else! Watching arrested development currently and Last of Us.
My favourite movies are pulp fiction, big lebowski ❤️, tarantino movies, all gangsta movies involving de niro and Joe pesci. Current ones I liked are marriage story ,parasite, park chan wook movies, can't remember more but I like my drama more than action. If I'd want you to watch one movie recommended by me, it would be Joint security Area.
Sports: I follow cricket a bit here and there. But yeah right now OBSESSED with Formula1, a hugh checo fan just because of his trajectory and rooting for checo to win the wdc next season. maybe I like some Hamilton and mercedes schadenfreude too lol.
Books: I am not into much into fiction but more into pyschological/self help books. Some of my fav books of the subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson, six pillars of self esteem by Nathaniel branden, right now reading some books by J Krishnamurti.

CF and RF had the least stability for the decade, followed by SS.

Little about me: I started playing ARK pretty much when it came out, when Island was the only map (IIRC it didnt even have name back then) and we had like third of the dinos that are now in the game. When Crystal Isles came out I decided to rent my first server and that was also when I discovered the power of .ini file editing. Since then I cant go back to playing regular ARK and each server I make has more crazy stuff in it. I have around 1.5k hours played as an admin/owner and god knows how many hours spent on thinking of/testing some crazy ideas. This is my 4th server, and like all of my previous servers it have some stuff changed.
Anyone who played this game for enough to reach "end game" realized how easy the game becomes once you get some stronger tame like Rex or Wyvern (which are pretty easy to get). ARK is great game and has A LOT of stuff to do in the end game if you are into PvP, but it lacks challenging PvE content. Even Alpha bosses can be beaten w/o mutated dinos, so if you are pure PvE player, there is no incentive for you to work on upgrading your dinos. One might think "oh just lower rates on the server and it wont be that easy, you wont finish that fast". That doesnt really fix the problem, it just makes the game more tedious and, for most, boring. Thats lazy way of doing it. However there is other way. It can be fixed, if you know how (and are willing to do a lot of work)
Here is how did I "rewrite" this game to become PvE focued game, instead PvP

• Every flyer and glider dino was removed from the game. You will have acess only to land and water dinos, you wont be able to "skip" every danger by just flying over it
• Every ridable land and water dino has been rebalanced and divided into 6 groups: Small Herbivores, Large Herbivores, Small Predators, Large Predators, Water Dinos and Titans. No longer you will be able to oneshot pretty much everything the moment you tame a Rex/Spino. That also means all dinos are "end game viable" and you can breed/mutate whatever you want, it will be viable to do all the content in the game
• All alphas were rebalanced. They are no longer walking loot/exp pinatas, they will be strong enough to consider them a challange and call them "mini bosses".
• The map boss stats were changed on all 3 difficulties to be more challanging (alpha one will be pretty darn tough)
• Some end-game recipes were changed to become "chase items". Mostly stuff from S+ mode like Propagator, Mutator, Tek crafting benches
• All beacons have been changed. They no longer containt the garbage items that they normally have, instead they contain every single item in the game that can have quality (saddles, weapons, tools, armours). All of them are also "randomized" so they are simillar in "power", White beacon has just as good items as Red one
• "The Market" was added. Its a place with "vendors" where you can sell many of the dino loots and few gatherables and also buy some end game stuff and other cool stuff. The "currency" is mutagen, which normally cant be aquired on this map, but also is used in breeding so that fixes potential inflation problem in the future

Here are some additional changes that make the experience more casual/fun and more info about the server:

• Dinos from other maps were added to the one we play on. The plan is to add every single land and water dino available in the game. We currently have some of them added, more of them will be added over time
• Extra resources that nomrally cant be aquired (on this map) were added
• Every dino is breedable and can be mutated. Even those that normally cant, like Rock Golem, Karkinos or Reaper. As long it can fit in cryopod (no Titanosaur breeding, sorry)
• Infinite element. Every player will have acess to stash with "infinite" amount of element. Tek tier has a lot of cool stuff and locking them behind the boss fight (and tedious grind if you need more) is not that fun
• All engrams are auto-unlocked

Stats of the server:
Player ressistance: 0.5 (means we take half the DMG)
Item Stack Size: 3 (with custom stack size for certain items)
Taming speed: 24 (3 speed, 8 hunger)
Harvest: 5 and XP: 5
Egg Interval: 0.2, Mating interval: 0.075, Egg Hatching: 20, Baby mature: 30
Turret Damage (to dinos): 5
Unlimited respecs
Mods on the server: Awesome spyglass, Strucutures+, Steampunk, Dino Storage, Simple Spawners

Plans for the future:
Boss Arena: This place wil be your place for your end game challenges, place where you will test out how strong are your dinos or some crazy ideas how to kill the easier bosses

• Boss Arena will have no restrictions other than time limit (for server safety, boss will despawn 60 min after spawning if not defeated). That means you can bring as many dinos as you want, any dino you want and even use machines/building to cheese the fight. The only rule is to not break the arena walls/flooceiling.
• Arena will have 5 bosses available: Broodmother, Megapithecus, Dragon, Deinopithecus King and Rockwell
• Every boss battle will have 15 difficulty levels. Yes, you see it right, 15, not usual 3.
• Boss arena will also have Mini Bosses aka Alphas - you will be able to fight alphas in here. Alphas that you can pick are Karkinos, Reaper King, Basilisk and Deathworm.
• All Mini Bosses fights will have 10 difficulty levels.
• All fights on the Arena will have some entry fee (paid in currency - mutagen) but if you win, you will be able to sell the loot for more than you paid, so it also will be source of income

Remaining dinos that are not added yet. Currently there 9 dinos missing on the map,I plan to add them over time, one per week, so people will have time to interact with one before next one will appear.

Mayhem Miller is the first queen to enter the werkroom. She walks in and mentions how it's about time she be cast on Drag Race. She talks about how she knows so many past Drag Race queens and how close she is with the previous season's winner, Raven. As she walks around the werkroom it's clear that she feels she will be the one to beat this season.

Olivia Lux, Symone, Malaysia Babydoll Fox and Daya Betty are the next few queens to enter the werkroom. Olivia and Malaysia both fangirl over competing against Mayhem. Olivia opens up about being newer in drag and her experience makes some of the other queens question if she will last. Symone jokes with Daya about being the diversity queen so far in the group. Daya talks to the other girls about being Crystal Methyd's drag sister to which Malaysia mentions that she doesn't see the similarity in their styles.

Brooke Lynn Hytes, Luxx Noir London, A'Keria C. Davenport and Monica Beverly Hillz are the next queens to walk in. When Brooke joins the room the queens are immediately gagged that a former Miss Continental is in the group. Brooke and Mayhem then start sizing each other up. Luxx talks about how stoked she is to be cast on her favorite show. The other girls look at her as a fashion queen until A'Keria walks in and talks about how big she is going to make the Davenport name this season. Daya jokes with her that the Davenports don't have a history of doing too well in the competition though. Monica comes in and the starts to butt heads with Luxx almost immediately as they don't seem to want to give the other the final word.

Latrice Royale, Chad Michaels, Shuga Cain, and Sasha Colby are the next group into the werkroom. Mayhem is stoked to see Chad in the competition and talks about how it is going to be a tough season for the other girls. Latrice cracks the other queens up with her humor. Latrice also tells the younger girls that they have to get ready for a big girl to walk away with the crown. Shuga comes in and she and Olivia bond over being New York queens. Sasha's entrance gags a ton of the queens who all talk about how they are so excited to see what she can do. Sasha immediately runs over to Brooke and tells her that she is ready to see how they both do as Miss Continentals.

RuPaul welcomes the queens to the season and tells them that this will be a season stuffed with star power! She then informs them that for the first time in drag race herstory that for this premiere NO ONE is going home!

RuPaul goes on to say that for their first challenge they will be competing in the Miss Charisma Uniqueness Nerve and Talent Pageant! RuPaul goes on to say that as a part of this pageant the queens will be walking the runway in two categories. The first should be a look that pays homage to their hometown and a second look, inspired by their guest judge, should be their favorite Lady Gaga drag!

MISS C.U.N.T PAGEANT PREPARATION
After Gaga and Ru leave the werkroom the queens scurry to grab their luggage and claim their spots within the werkroom. We see Luxx push other queens things out the way so that she can claim the spot that she wants while other queens, like Malaysia, struggle to find an open work station.

In her confessional, A'Keria mentions that the first challenge hasn't even started yet and the other girls are already being cutthroat.

Monica talks with Shuga, Symone, and Olivia about the first challenge. She talks about how the stakes are high especially since they are all up against two heavy-hitting pageant girls. Symone mentions that she isn't threatened and that she thinks they all need to stand firm in the package that they brought because why else show up to Drag Race. Olivia then talks about the piece she is planning to wear for her hometown look and then starts to show it off to the other girls.

Monica mentions that the other girls are definitely using this pageant as a way to try to intimidate the other girls and that she isn't going to let them get under her skin.

Latrice talks with Malaysia, Mayhem, and Chad about their approach to the first challenge. Latrice shares that she thinks that this is already shaping up to be an iconic season and that she sees nothing but fierce queens in the room. Chad agrees and says that a small part of her still wishes that there would be an elimination this week. Malaysia agrees and says that she's ready for the first strut her way to the finale and no one going home this week will make it tougher.

In her confessional, Malaysia says that the other girls are sweet but that it just makes it that there are even more girls that she has to stand out against.

We also see Luxx talking with Daya about the looks that they have brought for the challenge. Daya mentions that she thinks that Luxx's look seems like something they have seen already on the show. Luxx gets offended by this and defends her looks saying that she has her own point of view. It then comes out that Monique Heart from Season 2 is her drag mom to which Daya states that she thinks that it is just clear that Luxx just studied the show as opposed to learning her own artistic expression. Luxx storms off before saying that she can't wait to send Daya home.

Hometown Realness
Latrice is the first queen on the runway, and she sports a look that is covered in palm tree print and the color of sunrise as she pays tribute to Florida. Brooke decides to pay tribute to her Canadian roots with wearing a sequinned mountie look. Malaysia, another Florida queen, wears a resort dress with a sunhat and sunshades. Olivia shows her NYC pride with a look inspired by Broadway and Luxx follows her with a tribute to Jersey that glamorizes of the Jersey Shore. Shuga wears a look that ties in the latin cultural influences that are prevalent in NYC and Sasha wears a culturally inspired Hawaiian look. Monica wears a look that shows the banjie side of southern black culture and A'Keria wears a rhinestoned cowgirl look. Symone wears a look that seems inspired by Hollywood Boulevard while Chad seems to reference the sunny skies and skyline of Los Angeles. Daya wears a look that pulls in the famous Arch as well as the more rural side of Missouri. Mayhem closes the category with a LA valley girl look accompanied with the perfect comedic strut.

JUDGING
Following all of the main stage runway presentations, the judges sit to discuss the queens' performances.

Michelle starts with Latrice and points out that she thinks that she is extremely polished and that she has a lot of personality which could take her far in the competition. RuPaul agrees and says that there's a spark to Latrice that pulls you in.

Ross then talks about how he found Brooke to be just absolutely show stopping. He gushes over her mountie look and says that she is going to be one to watch. Lady Gaga says that she thinks Brooke's interpretation of her look was impeccably done.

Carson moves on to Malaysia and says that she knows her figure and dresses it so well. Ross agrees and says that she looked great but that he wishes she presented with the same level of confidence as the other queens in the competition.
​
Lady Gaga then talks about Olivia next and mentions that she has a light to her and that when she was on stage she wanted to smile. Michelle brings up that she really enjoyed her Gaga look but wished that her Broadway look came across stronger.

RuPaul then talks about Luxx and mentions how she is such a young kid but that she has so much realization into who she is as a drag artist. Ross agrees and adds that he wishes that the level of confidence that Luxx exuded on the runway that she could give to some of the other girls.

Carson moves on to Shuga and mentions that she just exudes really strong charisma but that her looks just didn't stack up. RuPaul says that she can see a star in Shuga and that with some prodding she thinks that they can get her star to shine through.

Lady Gaga then brings up Sasha and says that she is a queen that knows exactly what she is doing and what she is portraying. Michelle agrees and says that Sasha comes into the competition with a weight on her shoulders and a reputation to uphold and that she thinks she nailed it this week.

Ross goes to talk about Monica and says that he got an idea of what her point of view would be but that he still felt that it was half-baked. RuPaul disagrees and says that she thinks Monica may be rough around the edges but that she was intrigued by her.
​
RuPaul then uses that to transition to A'Keria and says that while the polish was 100% there that she couldn't put a finger on who she was as a drag artist. Carson says that she is definitely a beautiful queen but that there was a level of intrigue that seemed to be absent.
​
Michelle then talks about Symone and says that she was one of her favorites of the night because the references were on point and that even when she was Gaga she still exuded her own aesthetic. Lady Gaga agrees and says that she had a tricky outfit but that she is clearly a queen for the details because she nailed it.
​
Michelle thens says that Chad actually could make her rethink what her favorite looks of the night were because they were also so well done. RuPaul agrees and says that all of the girls are going to make it really tough on them as judges if they continue to perform at this level.
​
Ross then talks about Daya and tells her that she nailed it for him with her Gaga look because it was such a strong presentation. Carson agrees that she has real stage presence and that he really wants to see what more she can do this season.
​
Carson ends the critiques with Mayhem and mentions that he is the most excited for what she will bring to the season because it is clear that she is out to slay the whole competition. Michelle agrees and says that she had a strong first week and that she will definitely be a queen to watch.

Hello lfg! We recently had players drop from our group because they had unfortunate events come up in life. I'm looking for potential 1-2 player replacements for our group of 3. Currently we have for our characters:

Short recap of previous sessions - the group has been tasked to get rid of the rising power of dark knight paladin. Who rules over land of alduin. Due to her plans. She is currently harvesting souls for ritual of sacrifice. She has captured locals in nearby town and village. The party using the guidance of selune words.they went to seek out assistance of old friend. Upon finding their friend in abandoned cave area. They find cultists performing ritual of sacrifice. The party saving innocent people and joining with old friend. They gave chase to the remaining cultists to shadowfell.after lengthy fight with many people. They jump into new realm to stop ongoing plan that interconnect material plane and shadowfell.
Thing to note- new players will start at lvl 4 with free feat. We use roll 20 for VTT and dnd beyond extensions for rolls,Or if you have dice. Including discord to talk! We mostly are character driven party where the party makes a choice where to go in the story. Having a character goal in mind would help ,or if none comes to mind. We can discuss something later. Combat will be challenging, but there are ways to avoid it. This party prefers to stealthily avoid conflict when given the chance. All players are new to dnd, so it's fine if you are new as well! I have 4 years of dnd 5e experience and can assist with rules on game and character options. This campaign is high fantasy magic with ton of homebrew elements. We have ton of roleplay and exploring. Also for this player recruitment.
I am looking for potential someone to help the party being tank/Frontline. (Paladin, fighter or barbarian.) Or helping assist with damage/ someone's smart decision making. (Rogue/wizard.) Or both alike.

The sun was setting later and later every evening, and she loved it that way.
Spring.
Her time of the year.
The long frigid winter would give way to the warm gusts of a new chapter, the snow stripped of its harsh dominance of the year's long story.
She tread through the dying snow, calf-deep, rubber boots crunching and squeaking against the sun-hardened crust, every step an effort.
'Going so slow I may as well be walking backwards' she mused to herself.
Kate was a forester, and as much as winter helped ease her operations through muskeg country, she hated every day of it.
The bundling up, the clunky, heavy boots, the wet clothes, the unpredictable weather, and most of all, the perpetual cold feet.
'Ah well", she thought. 'Only another half a klick to the truck'. She always looked forward to the blast of heat the four wheel drive gave her on her return, pulling the chill from her wet, steel toed boots.
She'd been surveying: laying out cut blocks for the harvesters to follow. Flagging the edges of tree stands with ribbon as she followed her GPS so the crews knew where to cut.
Winter was good for that. The bush roads could be built over frozen ground. Spruce bogs and spongy muskeg that were normally inaccessible in summer became solid earth, letting the machinery pass.
She'd often pondered how nature dealt cards that way. Hi and low. Yin and yang. Give and take.
The winter was frigid but gave opportunity. The bears were sleeping, the mosquitos all dead. Machinery broke down though, and there were always injuries from the cold.
The summer? Hot, and the forest alive with all its vast beauty, vibrating in the sunshine. But the wasps, flies, wildlife and poor ground gave a whole new menu of trouble and had to be equally loathed. Fires were an issue and rain always caused all manner of havoc, soaking everything that didn't like to be wet.
Yin and yang. High and low. Give and take.
She was troubled about something else today though. Something she'd never seen before, spring, summer or winter.
The spruce and pine were dropping their needles.
There was always some of that naturally, but this wasn't natural.
The whole lower part of the crowns were devoid of needles, a thick carpet of them lining the snow beneath, still green.
Rows and rows of them, the lower branches reaching out like skeletons, long wooden arms grasping tenuously at the light.
She'd tried to chalk it up to a local phenomenon, albeit one she couldn't put her finger on.
Disease? Unlikely to present itself in winter. Mechanical damage? No one had been in there yet, except for herself, and besides, there were no tracks, human or machine. Wind? Possibly.
She'd dismissed it and carried on, making note of it to record and ponder later.
That was until Stephan had called her on the radio, from two blocks over.
"Hello Kate".
"Go ahead, Steph." she'd keyed back.
"Hey Boss. The trees are all naked". ......
