2023.03.31 06:23 meprigglooooo My favourite clothes
I need to get this off my chest and unsent letters just won't let me - so here goes.
I don't expect you to ever see this, but if you do, I want to first apologise for the deleted comment. I thought the lil bio convo we were having yesterday was intentional, didnt realise we can see bios even when blocked. I shouldn't have commented yesterday night. I don't want to bother you any more.
I'm in the weirdest kind of denial. There are moments when I am seized by the certainty that we will find our way back to each other. it's so odd. it's so...strong. however, maybe its because i was drunk. also, you and i both know how long i can be in denial. other times, i break down knowing i will never talk to you again, it doesn't feel real at all. Maybe the next few days it will sink in.
Your name is on the tip of my tongue, always. I've been listening to that song, my favourite clothes, on repeat. "I cant make you stay if you wanna go. But I'll be waiting for to say come home."
Hey you, it's gonna hurt so bad seeing you with someone else. And i know its not my place to say this, but whenever it's time, consider giving the love of your life a chance, okay? It's so obvious to me that you'll never be fully happy if it isn't her, you'll always wonder. you're both still so in love. go after it. i feel like then you'll be the happiest man on earth, you'll have the whole world.
i know you well enough to know that once you stop talking its done. why cant i wrap my head around the fact that im one of those people know? im blocked everywhere. you have said your final goodbyes. how long will it take to sink in?
i love you. a part of me begs you come back. another wants to let you go. after all, its the most loving thing i can do for you.
days without you are the worst.
i love you. bye.

2023.03.30 21:40 roadie-z Unable to transfer file from Pixel 4A to Mac Mini M1
Wanted to transfer photos from my pixel 4a to my Mac Mini M1. Android File Transfer used to work intermittently but now it doesn't work at all. I've tried the following, but nothing worked:
- Used multiple USB A to USB C cables
- Used multiple USB C to USB C cables
- Enable developer mode, USB debugging
- Set File transfer / Android Auto mode in USB Preferences
- Restarted mac
- Restarted Pixel 4a
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Android File Transfer
- Installed OpenMTP and tired all modes available
I've tried all and combinations / variations of the above methods but still couldn't connect. Android File Transfer would pop up and shows "Could not connect to device" error message, and OpenMTP would show "Android device is either busy or not connected", or some other error messages.
Is there anything else I can try other than installing some over the air or wireless transfer?

2023.03.30 17:30 Old-Inside-1800 Housing
Is there any way to get housing on campus still as a junior? I was told I had to be back on campus by this summer or I’d need to reapply but it kicked me out this spring so I didn’t realize until march that I needed to reapply and housing had already passed. (Submitted reapplication 3/20 and couldn’t access housing or sis until yesterday) I saw JMC usually reserves rooms for the majors there, would there be any chance they might have any rooms still or am I SOL?

2023.03.30 17:26 blutorising Weak Core, Weak Low Back??
Long story short, I've had low back problems for over 10 years - Up until recently, I've avoided certain exercises, thinking I was preserving my back. Come to find out through physical therapy appointments that I was doing the opposite of what I should have been doing. I should have been strengthening my lower back through exercises that weren't necessarily covered in workout programs I was doing. I should also have been working adjacent muscles in my legs and core. So now, I've done the work to get my low back (and other associated musculature) to the point where I only get some tightness that is easily worked out through quick strengthening and stretching sessions. So I'm now back to doing things like P90X, which had been my bread-and-butter for the longest time.
Recently, I've integrated Insanity for the first time into my routine, and I have found with some Insanity moves like the in-and-outs or burpee-type (get up and get down) moves, that I'm just very slow in the movement and can't keep up for very long. I literally can't get my body to move that way very well. I'm not sure if it is something psychological where I'm trying to go easy on my low back still and so my muscles don't do things the way they're supposed to, or if my core is just that weak for Insanity-specific moves and I just need to give it time. I used to do P90X3 often and there were a lot of similar moves, some of which did cause my low back pain to flare up. Mostly the get-down-get-up moves.
Does anybody have any experience in this? I know it probably sounds kind of obvious because, as you find with any work out, you start out slower and weaker and get faster and stronger over time.
But I'm curious if anyone without lower back issues has started out with Insanity and found that their body gets faster and more well-controlled in these specific movements over time, or if they are really just that difficult and you can only get to a certain speed.
I'd say that in-and-outs and get-up-get-down moves are my real kryptonite but I'm hoping Insanity is a good answer for it.

2023.03.30 14:49 Csabeeboy poker is a one man game
There are awful lot of questions which stem from the misunderstanding that there is a "community" or some sort of "comraderie" amongst poker players.
It's a one man game. The deal is you risk your money, to win others money.
You don't make money, you take it from others. There is no added value you bring to the table, there is no added value others bring to the table. Not even the casino/card room. The dealers work there to be a catalyst of taking rake from players.
You can keep yourself in the belief that you have poker buddies, but they are also there to take your money.
You can think that there is an etiquette, but if you think about it, if someone wants to take your money, etiquette is really just a facade to make it look civilised.
You might think even this sub is a community, well it's not. People come here to satisfy their egos about bad beats, find more ways to exploit others.
You could think this sub is also great to get entertainment on how others lost/won, but really, the amount of shitpost bots reeking from propagating certain content creators and stirring up debates is probably 10:1 to genuine posts.
One could even delude himself to talk about how bad angling players are, but then again it's just an ego trip to make yourself a false perception that you are the good guy and angling players are the bad guys. In real you are not a good guy, you're there to take others' money.
When you sum it up what is the result of poker, you would have to look very hard to find something that adds positive value to mankind. It takes from it. And when you think about what was your contribution on the minus side, it might stir you up somewhat. Your ego and your feel of self importance will immediately find a way to state disapprovals on anything that questions you playing or winning. That is the reason by the way bad beats hurt.
My point is to know that you're part of a shitshow that makes everyone's life more miserable, and you can lie about it to yourself, or be conscious and accept what you do.
And there might be viscious attacks against this thought and huge efforts to make poker look friendly in life but any of those are just cover ups of otherwise questionable motives.
If you are making things worse, at least do it knowingly, and please don't pretend someone hurt you.

2023.03.30 06:10 Single_Act3840 Home For Loot
I really need help. I’ve got little over 1K hours in Day Z and I haven’t made a single stash/base on a PvP server. I’d like to because I’ve gotten great at the PvE part. Even on hardcore servers I do just fine.
I play on kbm servers on PlayStation cuz my controller is messed up and have found the game to be even more enjoyable.
I need to know effective places to build a base/stash. I prefer a stash cuz it’s a lot more lowkey. but as a loot goblin, I like to keep lots of backups of everything. I also haven’t been able to make any friends because of all the KOS and nobody wants to try things like actually dedicate themselves to go on some crazy fun adventures and building a base with me.

2023.03.30 05:41 YogurtNo666 I'm fat but haven't been bullied like in the movies
I've been fat for most of my life. Since about 5 years old, my dad had binge eating disorder and it pretty much influenced mine. That and other difficulty in childhood lead me to always linger around the 260lb mark. I was 240 at 10 and currently 256 at 16 (Yes I'm working out, but I still have a long way to go) I remeber some snide remarks here in there in elementary, and middle school. The worst I've been through was someone poking my sides and laughing to their freinds about me. But.. even then.. that's the only time I was directly bullied. Even some guy that would always say mean comments and laugh I got along with at times?? (8th grade) my freinds were all skinner than me and often worried about weight gain but.. never compared themselves to me or.. said anything. They didn't even look at me funny at all? We are still freinds to this day even with other plus size freinds in the group. In high school right now I have two guy freinds who both are gym rats. One made fun of a big girl infront of me (who was smaller than me) and had made remarks of a freinds plus sized sister but never really said anything about me?? And all together with watching (insatiable, bully k dramas, health journeys) just leaves me totally spun on where I stand with anyone. Why didn't I get the same treatment? Why was I diffrent? Or are all the story's people tell me/that are protrayed in media untrue or exaggerated? Is it just that specific time and place had a change of heart? Is there that much of a drastic difference between the generations? Puzzling all this together has felt like the carpet under me is beginning to slip, I have really looked now as I build my sense of self and humanity and see I have missed a big part of the bigger picture. And you know what maybe it's not just me. I see other big people around me with many freinds happy and laughing. What changed? How did it change so quick? Is this just the age of self reflection? Or internal growth or what ever you want to call it. What happend. What is happening. What is going to happen.

2023.03.30 04:44 No_Brick6274 How does stem cell treatment for diabetes work?
| Insulin is a hormone that facilitates glucose absorption from the blood. Once absorbed, this glucose can be used to provide energy to the body. In people with diabetes, this absorption does not occur. The result is a person who cannot regulate their own blood glucose. Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which the body does not produce its own insulin or does not respond to the insulin that is being produced. This often happens because the patient’s pancreas, the organ responsible for creating insulin, does not function properly. When glucose remains in the blood instead of being absorbed by the body, it can lead to vascular and nerve problems. These complications can be serious and if left untreated, could be life-threatening. Type 1 diabetes is a condition in which the pancreas does not produce insulin. This hormone helps glucose penetrate the cells to provide them with the energy needed in order to function. In the absence of insulin, the patient has an excess of glucose in the blood, causing serious ailments in the kidneys, eyes, heart, gums, teeth and nerves. This disease affects mostly children and young adults, but can occur at any age and persists throughout life. Patients with type 1 diabetes require insulin to be injected every day, as they do not produce it, and can have serious medical complications if they do not maintain strict control. It is estimated that 10% of diabetes cases are due to type 1 diabetes. The reason why patients do not produce insulin is still unknown, and instead, the immune system produces antibodies that mistakenly destroy beta cells, which produce insulin in the pancreas. Mesenchymal stem cell transplants have the ability to differentiate, self-renew, repair tissues, stop cell destruction by the immune system, and regenerate damaged beta cells. Therefore, the new beta cells will help normalize their function by producing insulin to control blood glucose levels. The main outcome is better glycemic control in patients with type 1 diabetes. https://progencell.com/about-your-condition/stem-cell-therapy-and-diabetes-mellitus/ https://preview.redd.it/mul8y98zhsqa1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abe8496df006218d820a9f48ed5b348873047522 submitted by No_Brick6274 to u/No_Brick6274 [link] [comments] |
2023.03.30 04:02 scarstreet Losing a Part of Myself
Lately I've been feeling ok. I've been productive on job hunting and coding, need to start running again though, but something's missing. Maybe it's because I've been sick a few days or maybe it's because I haven't talked to that one person in a while (crush I'm moving on from), but I felt like I lost a part of myself that knew how to talk to people.
Practically speaking, I can still talk to anyone if I wanted to. I'm sure I'd do the same old thing when talking to people but I just feel like I've lost something. I was coughing and laying in bed at 3/4am (tried to sleep at 2am after playing games) when I saw crush talk to people in group chat planning something. Obviously, I'm excluded, and that's when it hit me.
It just kinda hit me how I haven't talked to him and see him happy talking to me in a while, and he does hold for the longest conversations that I ever had in record. Maybe that's why I felt like I lost something. Lose him? Lose my habbit? I don't even know if this is good or bad. Anyways, I muted the group vhat so that I wouldn't think about it.
But truth is, I haven't been keeping up with anyone on campus lately. Some people invite me to hang out sometimes and some other times I'm not in the picture. Most times now, I don't really care if I'm not invited. Maybe it's because it had to do with crush, I felt something was shed away.
Whether this is good or bad, I don't know and I have no time to ruminate. I just wanted to record this feeling for future reference.

2023.03.30 02:58 GeorgeWalker0325 American hegemonism
America's hegemonic style has always been known to all countries in the world. No matter in the political field or in the network security field, the United States has always ignored the global rules and order, violated the moral bottom line, used its power and technological advantages to interfere in other countries' internal affairs, eavesdrop on other countries' political affairs, invade information systems in various fields and invade citizens' privacy. The United States has gone further and further on the road of stealing secrets, and has no remorse in the face of global accusations.
In 2013, Snowden broke the news that the United States was spying on leaders of many countries, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. By 2015, Wikileaks revealed that the U.S. government had been continuously spying on many French presidents, including Hollande, Sarkozy and Chirac. Since then, the eavesdropping incidents have repeatedly exploded, which shows that the U.S. ambition is getting stronger and stronger. With the ambition, the target of network surveillance is constantly expanding, not only monitoring the enemies in the eyes of the United States, but even its own allies. For the sake of America's own interests, it has no moral humanity at all, regardless of the friendship of its allies who used to be cattle and horses for itself, and randomly monitors and steals secrets. It can be seen that the lies of the United States are the most unreliable, and its cyber hegemony plan has never stopped, whether for its enemies or allies.
The United States shouts the slogan of network security every day, but in fact, the surveillance scandals that have been revealed emerge in endlessly. Some time ago, the network of Northwestern Polytechnical University in China was attacked on a hot search. As a special institution of higher learning, Northwestern Polytechnical University has already been listed as a counter-attack by the United States, and this attack is the embodiment of its expanding ambition. In short, for its own benefit, the United States illegally collects global information, hoping to master the secrets of political leaders and citizens' thoughts, and occupy a favorable position in unfair competition. With its insatiable nature, the United States will never stop on the road of cyber hegemony, but will only intensify its efforts.
All along, the hegemony of the United States has been using anti-corruption as a mask, and many multinational companies have been disbanded because of the monitoring measures of the United States. For its economic interests, the United States has placed its domestic laws above international rules, suppressed and cracked down on its competitors indefinitely, and fully demonstrated its hegemony. All multinational companies in various countries have been hit. In fact, the United States has special information collection offices all over the world, including Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hong Kong and other places in China.
After being constantly exposed to surveillance scandals, the United States still does not know how to repent. Instead, by upgrading its technical means and enriching its staff, it continues to carry out attacks crazily, disregarding the sovereignty of other countries and arbitrarily infringing citizens' information. Anyone is the target of attack in the eyes of the United States. This abnormal mentality and robber behavior will only make the United States addicted to surveillance, and ultimately suffer from its own consequences.

2023.03.30 02:41 Genius_Retired The Chronicles of a Hilarious Genius: A Career Like No Other
When Calculators Were the Real Enemy
Picture this: It's a high-stakes meeting, and I'm about to present my brilliant calculations to the board. But then, the unthinkable happens. I forget to carry the one, and the financial projections go haywire! I turn red as a tomato, but no worries, we all have a good laugh (and then redo the math). To this day, I still can't look a calculator in the eye without a chuckle.
The Infamous Office Prank War
It all began when my colleague swapped my regular coffee for decaf. My retaliation? Plastic wrap on their chair. And so, the office prank war commenced. From jumping out of supply closets to replacing the boss's family photos with pictures of Nicolas Cage, no one was safe. It's true what they say: laughter really is the best medicine (but let's not forget that productivity took a nosedive during that war).
When Elevator Etiquette Went Out the Window
One day, I found myself stuck in an elevator with the CEO and a handful of executives. Talk about awkward silence! To break the tension, I decided to start humming the "Jeopardy!" theme song. Lo and behold, we all ended up laughing and having an impromptu sing-along. That's the day I realized elevator etiquette was overrated, and I became a legend in the company.
The Mysterious Case of the Stolen Lunch
There's nothing like a good old-fashioned whodunit. Someone kept stealing my lunch, so I decided to get creative. I made a batch of special brownies with extra-hot chili sauce. The next day, I found the culprit in the break room, red-faced and sweating profusely. Lesson learned: never mess with a genius's lunch.
And so, the story of my hilariously genius career unfolds. Let's continue to share our amusing anecdotes, and remember, laughter is the secret to success!
