My employer (financial services) provides a stipend for a work laptop. I’m looking for a laptop that handles office tasks easily but can also play games decently when I travel.
In short I want a “stealth” gaming laptop that I can take into a board room without looking like a turbo nerd but can also play games while I travel.
I’m thinking a Blade 14 or 15 with a D-Brand cover slapped over the logo but the latest gen seems to have a short battery life.

Hi all! I’m fairly new to espresso so I wanted to ask y’all if you think the new Opus grinder would be good for me.
I’m currently using a JX-Pro hand grinder with a Gaggia Classic Pro. I’m getting really tired of hand grinding, especially first thing in the morning when my arms are like noodles. I know the grind adjustments are a huge problem for a lot of people but I pretty much exclusively use medium roast beans and I’ve been using the exact same blend for several months and don’t plan on changing it anytime soon. I also only make espresso (lattes) and so I wouldn’t need to constantly change the grind settings for different methods. The plastic housing doesn’t really bother me and from what i could tell from Lance Hendrick’s video on it, it’s not terribly loud.
I feel like it would work for me but I don’t know enough about grinders to know what’s good or what fits my needs so I’m hoping the coffee veterans can help. TIA!

Hi everybody, I have been studying (and then using) English for over 10 years and at this point I feel quite confident in my communication skills. However, I have a job that often requires talking in public to international audiences with varying levels of English. To make people understand me better, as well as for my personal preferences, I would like to gradually smooth out my original accent and move towards a standardised version of British English, somewhere along the lines of what some call "modern RP".
I recorded the first paragraph from this article in the London Review of Books, the first vocaroo is me speaking with my normal English-speaking voice, recorded on the first try and only paying the attention I would whenever speaking.
The second vocaroo is a recording of me trying to put on a bit of a British accent, to me it sounds quite silly but I wanted to see if you thought I was moving in the right direction.
Finally, let me know if you can spot where I am from, I think there are quite a few telling signs, but I am curious to hear your opinion.

I want to move for mental heath reasons as winter in madison is extremely depressing. I feel like it’s not the same as it was when I was a kid, instead of deep snow all winter long it’s pretty much just grey and brown slush or no snow at all and everything is dead. I’ve heard the PNW is one of the most beautiful places to live in the world. And considering I’m a huge hiker, cyclist, camper and, snowboarder I feel I’d love it there.
I’m just worried that 1. I’m from WI and people won’t be as nice as I’m used to lol 2. Winter will be just as depressing 3. I won’t be able to find work

I'm looking to make a candle that can sort of do "splash art" by dripping multiple colors while held at an angle as it burns. The idea would be to not have the candle's individual colors mix before dripping, so interesting gradient effects and overlapping occur on the surface dripped on, not blending together completely as the wax runs. I know I could just use multiple candles, but that's no fun. :P
I was thinking of making a standard pillar candle that is divided in half vertically, with a wick on each side, and you light both sides at once. Would that be ideal? Or is some kind of spiral wick like Spiral Light Candles required for this sort of thing?
Additionally, what makes the candle run faster or slower? Use a thicker wick? Multiple wicks? If I'm looking to produce a stream of wax vs a dribble, what would I do?

So, there is a woman (25F) who works in the same building as me (33M), that I often see, but she works tangentially to me. I had heard through the grapevine that sometime during the summer she became single again after a year long relationship. I happened to come across her on Tinder, and we matched. The conversation flowed well, so I quickly set up a coffee/lunch date during our respective breaks at work. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule a couple of times due to crazy workloads. We then switched to dinner over the weekend.
When the weekend rolled around, she canceled shortly before we were supposed to meet, but wanted to reschedule for the following weekend. No problem. It happens, and I agreed. Needless to say, over the next few weeks, she would continue to cancel at the last minute, and ask to reschedule with a specific date/time. At first, her reasons appeared valid, but those reasons became far lamer and flimsier each time. She also later admitted to me that at least one of those excuses was a lie, as she was on a date with another guy. In hindsight, I suspect most of what she told me during all this was a lie. However, the other date didn't particularly bother me outside of feeling like I was pretty far down the priority totem pole, since it was still early. She was also very hot/cold with texting and would ignore me if I tried to address any issues with her behavior.
Since we still had to interact at work, and I didn't want to make things awkward there, I gave her several "outs" to just cancel everything and we could go back to how we treated each other previously (friendly, a few jokes here and there, etc.). She kept insisting that she was interested, and talked about how lucky she was to nab a date with a guy like me. Given that I knew her in real life, and she had a solid reputation, I continued to allow the rescheduling while making my frustrations clear, and not putting any real expectations on whether it ever happened (eventually, I just assumed she would cancel). In hindsight, I should have dropped her after the first couple of rescheduling attempts, but she is objectively attractive, I knew her in real life, and my luck in dating over the last year had been pretty barren. That was a mistake on my part and I own that.
We did eventually grab drinks one weekend. It lasted roughly 3.5 hours. Conversation was smooth and fun. However, I kept noticing that she had a "don't touch me" vibe going on, and towards the end, another guy (fake name - Mike) kept blowing up her phone. She said Mike was her friend, and likely calling her because they were meeting up with some others for an event tomorrow morning. After parting ways and her telling me we needed to do this again, she promptly ghosted me the next day. I was a little annoyed given the amount of time spent trying to set all this up, and work was initially awkward due to the ghosting, but I let it go and moved on.
Fast forward two months and she re-engages me, stating that she was just emotionally unavailable due to her last breakup and the idea of dating freaked her out. She thought I was awesome and funny, and wanted to continue hanging out. I asked her to clarify whether that meant as platonic friends or something more, but she wouldn't give me a straight answer. I stupidly spent another month trying to set up a time to "hang out," but she would dodge the issue or cancel. I became fed up and stopped communication. I then learned after the fact from a mutual friend that she had actually secretly started going out with "Mike" shortly after her last relationship ended and prior to us matching/talking. Apparently, Mike wasn't ready to commit, so she used Tinder dates to make him jealous. Once Mike was ready to commit, any other guys she was talking to were immediately dropped. I was the exception, since people in our office knew we were supposed to go on a date, so I apparently received a pity date. I can only speculate, but I'm guessing she was interested in keeping me on the back burner in case things crashed with Mike when she reached back out.
Best part? She wanted everyone at work to start calling her by her nickname instead of her legal name. I've always used her legal name, and didn't feel like doing her a favor, so I said I preferred to use her legal name. She flipped out, and said that my refusal to use her preferred nickname was creating a hostile work environment, was borderline harassment, and that I was intentionally making her uncomfortable just because she didn't want to go out with me again. I calmly listed all of the things she had done above, and told her that she shouldn't expect me to go back to being friendly/jokey with her after what she did, especially given that she never acknowledged or apologized for it. I eventually became tired of it, and agreed to simply use her nickname to avoid major issues at work. But yeah, I am now hunting for a new job and have learned several valuable lessons...

TL;DR: Woman I tangentially work with strung me along and used me to make her preferred guy jealous. I unwittingly went along with it like an idiot. Work has been uncomfortable since. I've learned many harsh lessons...

Im 11 days post op and going to start back at work tomorrow. So far I've been rinsing or washing the area after each time I use the toilet. This obviously won't be possible at work, so what did you guys do? Just dab it dry as well as possible? Do you think it's okay for it to not be rinsed for somewhere upto 8 hours? Thank you :)

Any recommendations for easy/fun/useful classes to take? Just need my general elective credits and I couldn't find any sort of 'for fun' category in the JMU catalog

So, I've seen a lot of people who don't really get salvaging and I thought I'd clear some things up.
• Erkul is wrong, scraper modules CAN be swapped out. The Cinch scraper is useless outside of drawing dicks on ships. Use an abrade and a trawler, then forget you have the abrade. You don't get the salvage bonus the reclaimer has, but the trawler is still worth it.
• Always set a QT point. I've blown up and robbed a bunch of vultures because they had no escape plan, they just went into an asteroid field with no quick route out. You have a lot of hull HP, just use a quick spooling drive and be ready to fire it up when you see a blue triangle.
• Stack 23 scu of boxes. Short trips aren't worth making. Fill your grid, fill the side and then eject the final box. You CAN do 25, but the extra work isn't worth it when you see how much screwing around it takes. 23 is quick and easy. Everyone I've seen blow up from loose boxes tried to do 25.
• TDD terminals are where you want to sell. vngd.net/trade-terminals has the most complete list I've seen. (Not affiliated with them, the wiki just doesn't have a list)
• Sometimes your cargo just won't show. I don't have a good answer for this one. You can use a second ship to unload into and then sell from there, and that usually works. You can also offer to sell to other players for less than it's worth. That's obviously more risky, although not so bad since tractor beams work in armistice now.
• Your scrapers are on gimbals. Hit G to switch to gimbal mode in tight spaces so you don't need to move your ship.
• Shields need to be down to salvage! If you're a player planning to abandon your ship floating outside a station, feel free to just shut it down. You'll need to claim it anyhow, and this way someone will benefit from it. I haven't checked to see if salvaging gives a crime stat, but I believe it does if the ship hasn't been destroyed, so keep an eye out for the comms icon. If you're unsure of a ship has shields up, enter salvage mode, get in range and it'll tell you if it's shielded.
• This one is going to be controversial and I'm not sure if it's intended. You can salvage your own ships. I'll let your imagination fill in the rest. I'll remove this one if someone shows an official statement saying not to do it.

I’m 45. My periods are fairly regular in that it’s usually each month. Never skipped. But the bleeding is much heavier and clots some months. Like jelly clots. Usually 4-6 days, tapering in volume to the last days. So usually the S or S+ tampons the first 2-3 days, then the R and sometimes the L.
But sometimes, like this month, was very light in volume and color. Also, it lasted at a consistent volume for 7 days then stopped. I only needed the R and L and even felt silly using those a couple of days. Then 2-3 days of nothing so I assumed it stopped. Then suddenly bleeding and cramps again. Like it was day 1.
I do get severe back pain and migraines with menstruation. I rarely get stomach cramps anymore. It’s always very low back pain.
What is happening and should I be concerned?

My app still won't let me sign in unless I give them permission to track me all the time. While using app permission still doesn't work. I have to go in after every shift I work and set it back to while using app only. Very irritating. They don't need to track my location when I'm going to a doctor's appointment in the next town over when I'm not working. Passed off right now.

so i started messing around with attachments as i do, and i got to the hk416. and ooh boy, i made this thing pretty much a laser. the setup that i personally use is: Kousaku OLED, ARS suppressor, sideways grip, tri-laser, and armor piercing. and it's really good compared to the old "meta" setup for it. it has sight kickup to the left and im sure it's cause of sideways, but regardless it works really well.

I'm curious to know how and why you carry a 6" revolver. I have a 6" S&W 586 and had my eye on the roto shoulder carry holster from Craft Holsters, obviously this isn't for long term carry. Usually I'm only out for a few hours at a time so weight is of little issue to be, seeing as I like to wear jackets a lot I thought this would be a novel way to carry on occasion. It's not practical at all, I have my Glock 19 for that and already have a holster for it.
The revolver holster is just for fun at this point. I want to carry it instead of having it sit on my desk every day other than to take it to the range. I just ordered a couple speed loaders so why not have an excuse to carry it. Again I want to preface that this is not for practical use other than maybe taking it to the woods as a hunting revolver, I just feel like carrying it. The fact that it was my first handgun also adds a level of sentimentality to my wanting to carry it. I also want to swap the factory walnut stocks to Elk horn to fancy it up a little, let me know your thoughts!

Hello everyone first time posting. I am working on a sheet that will allow me to hide all sheets besides the one called in the drop down menu on sheet 1. I have figured that out own my own; however, now I would like to also keep sheets 2,3,4 visible the way sheet 1 stays visible regardless of call out. I just don't know enough to figure this out and after hours of frustrated shots in the dark have nothing. I have included the VBA I am using, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
