Include a photo of the problem. You can upload to imgur.com for free and it's easy to do. One photo should contain enough information for people to understand the immediate area around the problem (dense shade, extremely sloped, etc.). Other photos should include close-ups of the grass or weed in question: such as this, this, or this. 2023.03.22 10:15 Sorin61 Senolytic Therapy (Dasatinib and Quercetin) Improves Diastolic Cardiac Function in Aged Mice [10 - 2022]
Introduction: Cellular senescence, an irreversible arrest of the cell cycle, is a recognized hallmark of aging that contributes to age-related multi-organ dysfunction and diseases. Evidence suggests that cardiomyocyte senescence plays a critical role in the development of age-related cardiac dysfunction. We tested the hypothesis that targeting senescent cells via intermittent administration of the senolytic drugs dasatinib and quercetin (D&Q) will improve cardiac dysfunction in old mice.
Methods: 21-month-old C57Bl/6 mice were treated with D&Q or vehicle via oral gavage on a bi-monthly basis for three months. Systolic and diastolic cardiac function were assessed using echocardiography. Expression of inflammatory and matrix metalloproteinase genes was assessed using quantitative polymerase chain reactions. Cardiac tissue morphology was assessed by histological analysis.
Results: D&Q treatment improved ejection fraction (EF) in old mice (60.3% vs. 64.5%, con vs. D&Q, p = 0.0207, n=18). Global longitudinal strain was improved by D&Q treatment (-13.99% vs. -17.03%, con vs. D&Q, p=.0005, n=18). Measures of diastolic function were improved after D&Q treatment (n=18 for all): E/E’ (27.60 vs. 20.08, con vs. D&Q, p<.0001), isovolumetric relaxation time (IVRT, 22.74ms vs. 14.99ms, con vs. D&Q, p<.0001), and reverse longitudinal strain rate (rLSR, 4.64 1/s vs. 13.41 1/s, con vs. D&Q, p<.0001). Expression of inflammatory and matrix metalloproteinase genes (cd3e, foxp3, tnf-α, mcp-1, mmp9) was lower in hearts from D&Q treated compared to control mice (p≤0.05). Extracellular matrix collagen expression was lower in cardiac tissue from D&Q treated compared to control (p<0.01).
Conclusions: For the first time we report a significant improvement in diastolic function in aged mice when treated long term with the senolytic therapy dasatinib and quercetin. Measurements of systolic function also improved, but not to the same degree as observed for diastolic function. I live in a blue state and my birth Certificate is in Texas. I am afraid of changing my birth cert there because 1. This happened https://www.texastribune.org/2022/12/14/ken-paxton-transgender-texas-data/ and 2. They need me to get my fingerprints taken to change it. I am terrified of being genocided in the future, whether you might think that is logical or not. I don't know if I'm safer leaving my birth certificate as it is or changing it to match my correct gender. I don't want to be on some insidious list of trans people that will be used to hunt me down in the future

“Indian authorities should prioritize ending impunity for the human rights violations that human rights defenders and journalists have bravely documented and exposed, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, and ensure that human rights defenders and activists can work in a safe and enabling environment without any fear of reprisals.”
As per NIA’s statement, Irfan worked at Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) which was “funding terror activities”. He worked with the Kashmiri activist and human rights defender Khurram Parvez.
Previously, Amnesty International with ten other leading human rights organizations has called for the immediate and unconditional release of Khurram Parvez, who was arrested on November 22, 2021 on politically motivated terrorism and other charges. Amnesty International has also documented the intensive crackdown on journalists and human rights defenders in Kashmir, with more than 60 instances in the three years since August 2019. Amnesty International has also previously called on Indian authorities to repeal or substantially amend the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The director's complex history of interactions with the soviet regime, including stalin himself, have been assessed and reassessed continuously ever since, but one thing remains certain - his magnus opus Earth is a masterpiece of world cinema. Watching it today, it is remarkable how impactful the film's dreamy and nightmarish visions truly are, despite its limitations as a silent film. Earth is a depiction of the soviet policy of collectivization - something the regime was eager to portray in the most wonderful light possible. And at first glance, this is precisely what the film shows us. There is a young guy who organizes the community, they mechanize, and so on. But while watching the film you might realize that there's something deeper going on. The film opens with a luxurious portrait of Ukraine as a kind of bucolic Eden in the midst of a bountiful traditional harvest. Wind whips through the steppe. The fields of wheat ripple, the sunflowers sway, an old man lays in an orchard with his newborn grandson. What political purpose could a scene like this possibly serve, if we're meant to despise these so-called "Kulaks"? In a land where such a paradise is already possible, is the only possible next step for humanity really the tractor, the conveyor belt, the coal car? Machines connected to machines. Soon after this idyllic introduction to the ebb and flow of the land, we are introduced to the world of politics, murder, and collectivization... and ultimately, everything feels very negative and futile despite ostensibly being a feel-good story. This wasn't super great as far as impressing the soviet censors. Is this the new look for Spring 2023? Workers look up at what they are told is a \"bolshevik airplane\", unimpressed. In fact, Earth was condemned within the soviet union for its insufficient ideology and for its hypnotic naturalism that expressed the deep connection to nature inherent in Ukrainian culture - a connection that doesn't need saving. The film was released on April 8th, 1930 but by April 17th had been banned from all cinemas due to its subversive content. Dovzhenko was repeatedly denounced in secret reports to the KGB, who were surveilling him. A funeral scene from \"Earth\" Later, he tried to save his career and his life by working even more closely with the regime - with stalin himself - but this was of course folly. In his concealed diaries, he decried the deliberate destruction of the Ukrainian people by the russian regime, their enslavement and russification, the humiliation of the nation. He described the regime as "wretched fools... cold cowards with locks on their mental windows and doors." A scene from \"Earth\" Dovzhenko expert Serhiy Trymbach wrote that the director "believed that it was possible to combine the strength of the bolshevik idea and the Ukrainian essence. He, like many of his peers, diminished by the defeat of the Ukrainians during the struggle for independence, bet on strength and that this bolshevik strength would help resurrect Ukraine and Ukrainian culture. He was wrong." _______________________________ Playing with Light, Plagued by DarknessDovzhenko and crew during filming.Danylo Demutskyi was the Ukrainian photographer and cinematographer who filmed Earth. He was also a victim of soviet terror (three arrests by the NKVD). Many believe that it was Danylo's touch that made the film truly great; as one Ukrainian critic said: "In the film Earth there was a rare harmony of a great director and a great cinematographer.” He created extremely plastic and psychologically-saturated portraits with the help of subtle lighting. With the help of a monocle and various attachments on the lens, he painted landscapes in haze and actors in soft muted tones. In 1932, Danylo was arrested for his connections with a Ukrainian movie director named Favst Lopatynskyi, who was later executed in 1937 as part of the Executed Renaissance. In 1934, Danylo was arrested again for his family's connection to “aristocratic reactive elements”. He was released from prison after 4 months, but was sent on forced exile to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In 1938, he was arrested again but not really charged with anything. He was released after another 17 months in prison. He was allowed to return to Ukraine in 1939 but his career, health and life was destroyed. One of the film's main actors, Semen Svashenko, was also a victim of soviet terror. His brother was another who was killed during the purge of Ukrainian intelligentsia in 1937. Semen was in trouble with the soviet regime as well, and moved to moscow in 1933, giving up on his acting career in Ukrainian movies in order to avoid the fate of his brother. _______________________________ Legacy of "Earth"A scene from \"Earth\"Earth may have been banned in its country of origin, but abroad it was a smash. After the premiere in Berlin, 48 news articles were published about this hot new director Dovzhenko. In Venice, after its showing at the Venice film festival, Italian cinematographers called Dovzhenko the "Homer of cinema". Historians believe that this international attention is what ultimately saved Dovzhenko from incurring stalin's wrath and being murdered. Earth has been repeatedly named one of the top films in the history of cinema - in lists going as far back as 1939! The film has been praised by Fellini, Coppola, Scorsese and more. Scene from \"Earth\" Since 1994, one of the most important cultural organizations in Ukraine is the Dovzhenko Center; we posted a documentary produced by Suspilne, the public television of Ukraine, that includes commentary by staff from the Center in this post. They specialize in film archival and restoration, and the Dovzhenko Center restored Earth in 2012. The villians work as a cohesive unit and gather once a week at different locations to discuss strategy and come up with ways to throw would be detectives off their trail. They will do anything necessary to avoid detection and keep their mission alive, including killing their own weak links or pausing the killings to make their trail go cold. Not all of the villians have to participate in actual murdering, some could simply be leaders or strategists.
The high volume of murders has attracted some of the brightest minds from across fiction to unravel the mystery.

I have a 23yr old special needs son. He had a fit and put me in the hospital. The police came and arrested him (not the 1st violent fit so police are aware of my home) usually he’s taken to the hospital or they talk to him and calm him. The following day of his arrest he was released, my daughter (whom is in another state) called her friend to pick him up. I didn’t have a phone it was smashed with the fit. Here now some time later I’ve called APS and nothing has been done. I’ve called for a welfare check to be told in the state I’m pretty sure he’s in that a male (the father) answered the ring doorbell and stated my son was fine. No one talked or set eyes on my son to confirm, when I asked if I should go back in a few hours when someone’s home, I was told I could get in trouble for harassment if I called too many times I’ve only called one time! He hasn’t been able to take his meds hasn’t done his counseling or seen his doctor. I’m not sure who exactly flew my son to Texas from the state we live in but I’m heart broken. His phone just goes straight to voicemail. The father is a POS and won’t answer anything, I feel he realized he was going to have to pay child support because of our sons special needs developmentally delayed and this was his opportunity to dodge it. The police tell me because my son is 23 (24 yrs on the 23rd 😭) he’s an adult. I asked about abduction I asked about being held against their will and manipulated. Apparently it doesn’t fall in the category of special-needs, I’m just continuously told he’s an adult. I never went and got the whole guardianship through the courts because I am his payee and I’ve always done paperwork to be able to take care of his medical needs now I’m heartbroken and have no idea what I can do. My guardianship hearing is April 18. I also was served with papers from Texas (not the state I live in) the father wants guardianship to place him in a long time care facility! The dad has been estranged for a many yrs. Do I have anything I can do for my son a high risk adult that is developmentally delayed?

On 16 October 2008 33 year old mother of 6, 33 year old Regina Marie Garcia left the Sacramento home she shared with her 56 year old boyfriend Randy Macedo, and has not been seen or heard from since. Garcia was in a methadone program, due to her heroin addiction, at the time of her disappearance, but she left her social security, Medi-Cal, and health insurance cards when she left home. She was last seen by Macedo riding away from their home on her bicycle. She was reported missing, by Macedo, on the 30th of October, 2008.
There was an excavation of the home in 2012 after an unrelated tip was made that brought law enforcement to investigate Randy Macedo. During the investigation Macedo was arrested on gun, drug and explosives charges, including possession of an assault weapon and silencer. The investigation was in relation to the well-being of Macedo, and Garcia's 7 year old child. Law enforcement brought in cadaver dogs, a bobcat, and manual digging and sifting equipment. Four months later,. Prof. Al Saidawi went to the same hospital to have a follow up medical check-up. Surprisingly, he was cured from diabetes. After the check up, Prof Al Saidawi go back to home.
Suddenly, he was arrested by police. He was brought to the police station together with the doctor who he met four months ago.
The interrogation began. The police officer asking about a smuggled medication that both of them had a transasaction earlier.
With a little jiggling, Prof. Al Saidawi explained, "Actually in that canteen, the doctor said to me that actually the Knafeh and Baklawa were created by Fatimid BerbeAmazigh and the Ottoman Turks to weakening the Arab peoples by turning them into a diabetic persons.
And as you know, I as the Professor of Arab History felt ignited and exploded with that conspiracy. So, in the name to strengthening the Arabism, I started to skip the sweetmeats especially Knafeh and Baklawa because TIL that both of them are the weapons of ajam against the Arabs.
